How often do you wash your hair?

And if you are one of the lucky ones that can get away with washing it every few days (or longer) what do you do to it?!

I have long, slightly frizzy, wavy hair. It's not majorly fine but not really thick either. However it does get greasy at the roots very quickly, within a day!

Twice a week.

A good blowdry and dry shampoo are my best friends.

Every day, I know it's not good for if but my hair is really fine and gets greasy really easily - I occasionally use dry shampoo and get a couple of days though, have you tried it on your roots, it's great!

I also have wavy, frizzy hair and I wash every couple of days but I only use shampoo once or twice a week. The rest of the time I use conditioner only. The state of my hair has improved markedly since I started doing this. I also avoid sulphates and silicones. I find it's less greasy at the roots too for sure.

Once a week, though it is up all the time, dry shampoo and leave in conditioner are my best friends

Twice a week.

I curl it, which seems to help, and use a good dry shampoo.

Every day when I shower. It's baby fine & short and looks greasy & awful if not washed daily.

I have tried dry shampoo and yeah it's great, but doesn't give me the same effect as actually washing my hair, and I find it dulls my hair a bit. It maybe buys me an extra day......

Once or twice a week

You need to break the washing habit basically. its horrible while you're doing it but you'll soon find you don't have to wash it as often.

Every three days.

On Day Three I use dry shampoo in the roots, which gives it a boost. I use the brunette version of Batiste to avoid the powdery look.

I haven't got time to wash it every day, such a faff.

Every day. I have very fine hair which I wear in a very short cut, I cannot imagine not washing it every morning I would look an absolute mess at work if I didn't.

Every day. I run/swim/bike/gym every day but even if I didn't (ill etc) then I still would. Shoulder length hair.

Once a week but it's past shoulder length, fairly thick and very dry, a real PITA to wash & dry.

Every other day. I couldn't bear leaving it any longer to wash. That said, my hair is glossy and in good condition, so regular washing certainly hasn't damaged it.

Every other day, but sometimes go up to 4 days. I get through a lot of Dry shampoo!

Twice a week but my hair doesnt really get greasy I just blast with hairdresser and the on day 2 I curl it and that shape lasts a few days then I wash agin. I wear it up in a low bun a lot and if its looking scraggy I put on a thick black headband as I don't think washing too often is good for it.

Every day. It's short and sticks up loads if I don't.

ThatsNotEvenAWord · 03/05/2015 15:58

About every 3 days, it's so thick that when I leave it to dry it can take 24 hours (guilty of putting wet hair up in a bun) so if I washed it any more often it'd never be dry

Once a week. I wear my hair up almost all the time. It would look better if I washed twice a week but I'm too lazy and it's so long (hip length) that it takes a bit too much effort.

Thanks for all the replies, glad I'm not the only one who has to wash her hai every day/every other day.

I very rarely blow dry my hair, if I started doing that would it make a difference maybe?

Funny you mentioned the blow dry as ive to wash my hair About 3 or 4 times a week but if Ive just got my hair blow dried in the hairdressers it lasts me for almost the full week! I've tried blow drying my hair myself at home, doesn't last as long though before needing to be washed again Confused

Oh yes Sagethyme they're very rude indeed. They must shower daily to wash out their filthy mouths.

Every day, but that's because I get the most dreadful bed head and it's just easier to wash and blow dry it. Even putting it up is a challenge. Pony tails can work but really don't suit me so I keep that for working from home days.
