If you use a 'higher end' lipstick can you tell me which you like and why?

I don't really wear lipsticks, they always looked rubbish on me, never lasted and seemed to draw attention to my less than perfect lips.
I have started looking after my lips and face recently and now they are much smoother and nearly line free, so I thought I might try again!
On Saturday I was passing the Chanel counter in boots and thought ' what the hell' and tried on a couple of coco rouge allure. I was blown away. What a difference between those and something I could get in superdrug. I had no idea.
I'm sorely tempted to buy one, but then I wondered what some of the other posher brands are like in comparison to channel. I would have gone to other counters but I had become over whelmed!
So I thought I'd ask here.
Thanks Smile

I like Chanel and Nars lipsticks. The former has better cool and muted shade range, the latter is longer-wearing and higher-impact.

If you buy just one lipstick, pick one that you always enjoy wearing.

I have a Chanel one - coco rouge shine. It's not drying and not too in your face. I love it and am not a lipstick person.

Thank you. I'll check out the Nars too. Wasn't sure how the likes of YSL/Estee Lauder/Lancome compared. I guess they'll all be pretty good. Well you'd hope so for the price!

I love Nars in Dolce Vita. It's so easy to wear and would suit most colours I imagine.

Also quite a fan of Laura Mercier and Bobbi Brown formulations but don't like any colours as much as the Nars one.

Lancôme & Estée Lauder ones smell nice (or used to).

Not crazy about MAC or Guerlain.

Clarins lip pencils are very good, IMO, and not too expensive.

NARS Audacious lipsticks are my favourite. I vowed I wouldn't buy any when they came out but have already acquired quite a collection.

I also really like Burberry lipsticks.

I too love chanel. I also love dior and the nars satin lip pencils

I like the Nars Audacious, YSL, and Guerlain Rouge Gs - the latter have the best packaging, so chic! I have a couple of Chanel Rouge Cocos but don't find they wear as well as some of the other high end brands, personally.

YSL, always. Goes on like butter and highly pigmented. Their peach passion is the only coral I can wear.

Hi, I love flawless by sonya as they contain a high purity of aloe Vera so alway keep my lips from drying out. They r really smooth lipsticks not sticky or thick and not overly bold in colour which I like as some lipstick these days are very bright. They are £16ish each. 10/10 from me xx

I'm not a lipstick not a makeup person, but on the very few occasions I wear makeup, I like Chanel Rouge Allure.

I love Chanel rouge allure in Libertine. My other favourite is Nars velvet shine pencil in New Lover. Both excellent quality.

My ultimate favourite was the discontinued Chanel Rouge Allure Insolente!

I don't know why Chanel discontinues all my favourite shades. Like that and the Chanel JC Narcisse blush.

I got a three pack of Lipstick Queen lipsticks at TK Maxx. Was initially a bit disappointed when I opened them up as they were sheer and balm-like. But it turns out they are brilliant - a great way of wearing strong colour very easily. They're beautifully comfortable and last on the lips, unlike other sheer lipsticks I've tried.

Anyone tried Tom Ford? They always seem to get good reviews?

I am a lazy lipstick wearer. I have recently bought a Chanel in Boy. I love it. It's subtle and it doesn't smell.

I didn't like the Tom Ford I had. It was a thing of beauty, but I found it too gloopy and greasy and it was also short lived on the lips.

Clinique Coloursurge, the best I have ever worn by far. Really heavy coverage without looking over the top, nice matt finish which I normally dress up with a little clear gloss if its going out look, otherwise just the lippy on its own.
Last for ever whatever you're doing. If I put it on in the morning then go to work, after several coffees, lunch etc it's still really good coverage.
They stopped making it a while ago so I stocked up but a lady on the counter the other day told me another one is similar but can't remember the name.
LOVE IT

I love Tom Ford lipsticks - they're very good on dry lips.
