What to wear with fab tweed pencil skirt

I have just about dieted back into a fab L.A.M.B. tweedy pencil skirt I got in the States a few years ago (so no linkie I'm afraid). It has lots of sage green, mustard yellow and a bit of brown. Sorry, I'm not making it sound brilliant but it is a classic.

It is so long since I've worn it that I can't remember what I used to do with it. I like the whole Madmen thing so have been thinking of a tightish sweater/cardie plus belt, but I worry about the colour - whether too much green/yellow that close to my face (a) wouldn't suit me and (b) is a bit too themey.

Charcoal maybe?

Any ideas? A bit stuck here.

Cream polo neck?

Is that trendy? Always happy to jump on a bandwagon so would be interested to know.

But I have rather large (34G) norks and fear they would look enormous.

Nooooooooo to a poloneck and especially not cream, if you have norks.

The only way for those of us with norks to wear a poloneck is a) if we have a long neck and b) layered underneath a dark coloured top which has a v neck.

Charcoal top and grey opaques maybe? Hard to say without seeing the colours.

Oh right 34G, I am wearing a cream polo neck but am a B. I didn't know about boob issues Grin

Sorry. Ummm v neck?

It sounds nice btw. A charcoal one could be good.

Ah yes Marsha, the perils of having boulders instead of boobs.

I am liking the idea of charcoal top and tights.

I think I need to show you the skirt so will take a piccie when I've finished eating DS's petit filous feeding my son. Grin

Loose-ish fit heavy silk blouse in cream/caramel/mink plus sexy belt. V neck will minimise norks.

Okay Marsha - at that size, you are forgiven! :)

Silk shirt perhaps?

Or very slim fitting top with cropped cashmere cardigan on top.

This is nice irl - in fact, I intend to try it on tomorrow.

Any good?

Oooh yes, that's pretty.

I think I'd prefer something knitted and a bit easier to wear though. I don't really do ironing...

Piccie is now on my profile. Not sure it does the skirt justice (I agonised over the shoot, honestly I did) but you will get the idea.

Smile

I cheated a bit and looked ay NaP. I know it's turtleneck and flecked. And very expensive.

But I like the colour of it with the lighter skirt and shoes.

Could be inspiration for something else?

Me likey. It is beautiful. Just had to hide the page though in case DH thought I was actually contemplating spending £480 on a jumper...

And I like the belt too.

ooh nice but tricky one. Something simple. I think I will have to stand by cream v neck.

Ugh - don't like that jumper at all, sorry. it looks like something mil would knit. Would add POUNDS to any norkage.

Please, please don't go for anything like that OP with 34Gs.

Sorry Marsha - you are viewing this from an entirely different nork-park.

hahaha

NO it was for colour alone. Colour alone I tell thee.

But love nork-park hahahsa

And colour without the flecks.

So basically I was recommending mushroom-y.
