PestoSkiissimos Tue 12-Apr-16 17:57:07

I've been looking too, but can't work out when would be best to go due to the dratted school holidays situation.

PestoSkiissimos Tue 12-Apr-16 17:57:49

dontcallmethatyoucunt Tue 12-Apr-16 19:01:30

CaurnieBred Tue 12-Apr-16 19:18:28

Booked accommodation for Feb half term 2017 last October! Booked our flights with Ryan Air just after Feb half term this year. Corvara here we come grin

CaurnieBred Tue 12-Apr-16 19:19:25

Am also looking at 2018 options already. The pain of half term holidays.

dontcallmethatyoucunt Wed 13-Apr-16 07:21:15

Tied to half term so looking at Austria or Italy again as less of an extortion than France. Flights aren't out yet though..

dontcallmethatyoucunt Wed 13-Apr-16 20:53:46

We've decided to go at Xmas this coming season so not too long to wait. The problem is 2018 will take an age to come round!

Massistar, have a look at Baquera Beret in Spain. At half term it's supposed to be excellent. It's there or Sweden for us in 2018!

CaurnieBred Thu 14-Apr-16 00:09:09

DCMTuC: Baquera is one if the places I am looking at for 2018.

massistar Thu 14-Apr-16 09:06:05

Ooh I will thanks! Haven't even heard of it! Italy is fab at half term too.. We've skiied in Canazei a few times and never queued for a lift.

dontcallmethatyoucunt Thu 14-Apr-16 15:40:53

Canazei is a good tip too, I'll have a look ... any excuse!

My friends were in Baquera this year and said it was amazing. They really enjoyed it and again, empty slopes.

CaurnieBred, share any tips you may find. I was thinking fly to Toulouse and then drive into the mountains. The only package I've found is Neilson, but not looked hard as yet. Trip Advisor shows quite a few options though.

dontcallmethatyoucunt Thu 14-Apr-16 15:55:00

massistar is it quite linked up in the various areas? Are there buses like Chamonix or am I being a bit too optimistic! ?

massistar Thu 14-Apr-16 16:00:29

We stayed in Alba and from there you can ski in either Ciampac or take the new gondola over to the main ski are at Canazei. Canazei links into the Sellaronda as well. Worth going just for the food grin.

We've booked our accommodation. Just waiting for flights to come out for March next year. We're going the same place as this year, Morillon, as the accommodation was just perfect for us. Just going outwith the French school holidays as the queues were awful.

CaurnieBred Sat 16-Apr-16 19:03:14

So far I have just looked at Ski Miquel - they go to Baquiera

vEGANvERA Sat 16-Apr-16 19:20:39

Val d'isere booked for week before 1/2 term! Super excited 😀

lovetoskimum Mon 18-Apr-16 13:32:10

Loving all the posts,

good to see that I am not the only ski mad person on the planet smile

Just looked at Baquiera - interesting !! Maybe 2018 !! Although Les Arcs ticks all of our boxes, apartment perfect, skiing good, smiling to myself as I type this as I wish I was there now smile

We booked to go back to Austria the day after we returned! Ischgl again for us, first week of the Easter hols. Yay!

Muchtoomuchtodo Tue 19-Apr-16 21:27:04

We're booked for PdS in January.

Flights and all!

crazedidea Fri 22-Apr-16 19:24:06

Just yesterday I booked flights for a group of 19 of us for Feb 2017 half term to Austria and we've got two accomodations on hold for us to decide on over the weekend - one is self catering in 2 new chalets with saunas for £365 per head or a more basic group style chalet with catering for £399 per head. Decisions, decisions!

bluetongue Sat 23-Apr-16 06:14:38

Do I win? I've booked Saalbach in Austria for late January next year as well as a flight all the way from Australia! Yes, I am addicted.

Still have a second week of skiing to decide on.

Pretty impressive blue, but as I'm almost set on my 2018 strategy I'm not shocked grin
