Merry Christmas everyone Xmas Smile

We hope everyone's been good in your house this year and suitably rewarded by Santa. When you've had a good play with everything, we'd love it if you'd let other Mumsnetters know your verdict by writing a review, in time for the sales Wink.

Wishing a lovely day to one and all,
MNHQ x

What are we writing reviews of?

I can write a review of my dh and his choice of gifts for me if you would like.

An eternity ring hidden in a jar of instant coffee. Inspired! And much longed for. There were some other bits....but lost in the haze of the eternity ring.

Ahh that's nice spotty .Smile
I'm going to tell you about my slippers anyway.
I have the backless mules with fur trim in chestnut. They are a size larger than I would usually use as they come up small. They are really easy to keep on, and look nice too. The rubber soles mean I can go out endlessly to the bins with christmas wreckage. I just change from outdoor uggs to indoor uggs and job done - warm, stylish feet all day!

I got a bookcase and a box of chocolates. Me and dh are off for a weekend without dcs instead of giving each other a present. Don't think you'll want me to review that in too much detail Grin .

I would write a review of my Aigle wellies but there's no suitable category. Suffice it to say - Best Present Ever!

I'm going to a day spa, not sure if there is a category for that, but if there is I can review after my visit Smile

Your brand selection SUCKS. I was trying to write a review of a marble kit. Couldn't find the brand, couldn't substitute.

I got exactly the same as Nerfmother so no need for me to do anything as it has been done!

Ah Nerf, I hinted about those slippers and showed him them on the John Lewis website... But I got a pair of boot type alternatives from his trip to Germany, not bad but no rubber solesConfused. Got other stuff, a tea pot which id had my eye on for ages and some CDs but no new bag for work which was my other massive hint. Sales here I come. When I'm over this hangover that is!!

They are brilliant: don't just hint next time! Bag was ordered by me and arrived from Santa. I have learned since the happy birthday panini maker.

My dh bought me some Poison perfume and had it gift wrapped. He then did some other shopping and it seems he may have put the bag down somewhere and left it.

He only noticed on Christmas Eve when he went to get all the gifts from his safe place and noticed mine wasn't there.

We contacted all the shops he went in and the security office in the shopping centre but no-one handed it in. It was the icing on the cake for us really after a disasterous few months Sad

I want to review dd's Melissa and Doug's Castle. So many thanks to all who recommended it. It's fab and has been played with all day, everyday since she opened it!

I was going to review some of ds1's lego mountain but the brand selection bit is al over the place, it isn't in alphabetical order and I gave up trying ot find Lego in it.

Perhaps and intelligent search thingy where you start typing and it finishes for you with option to put it as "other" if it doesn't find a match? There are a heck of a lot of brands, trying to scroll through a really long list, especially when it isn't in any kind of order, it impossible.

This isn't from my OH but from the parents, last birthday from them I got a Laminator. The reason: Because I work in an office. :-/ We don't even use Laminators, a shredder for old letters would have been far more practical.

This Xmas when asked what I'd like, I mentioned one of those retro Roberts radio specifically for the kitchen at mine. They got me one, which I muchly appreciate except it was a modern looking, travel one that needed headphones, I have an iphone.

Thank luck for my sake I have a OH who gives great gifts.

I appreciate their gifts, and put the smiles on and thanks you when received but this coming birthday I may hint at vouchers.

My favourite gift was a Kath Kidston book called Sew. Of course I have had to buy a sewing machine in the sales.
