Any 3 wheelers that I can use with maxi-cosi car seat or a carrycot (but not Quinny Buzz)

I'm expecting DC3 and I need a 3 wheeler due to the terrain where we live. I currently have a Phil and Teds for DC2 but it is getting a bit knackered. I only really need a single pushchair as but ideally will need to use a buggy board for DC2. I need it to be compatible with the baby maxi-cosi seat and would preferably like a Carrycot for the early days. Does anyone have any good recommendations? I've owned a Quinny Buzz original style but found it pretty unstable tbh and the front wheel needs to be pneumatic I think. Would quite like a Pand T's Vibe but I don't think you can add a car seat onto this?

Maxi-Cosi do their own prams, quite big three wheelers.

Do they? OK, I think I vaguely knew that but will have a little google. Thanks

Hmm, not keen on the look of the Maxi-Cosi Mura. Has anyone got experience of the Quinny Speedi SX? Seems to have pretty goo reviews on here.

I thought you could buy adapters for the P&Ts to fit the maxi-cosi cabriofix onto? (Though they don't have carrycots as such).

I have an iCandy apple jogger, the 3 wheels have been great and got us over all sorts of rough ground. It has a carrycot and fits the maxi-cosi car seat.

A friend has the mothercare my3 and that also fits your requirements, but seems very wide and the car seat fits on quite low (imho)

The Britax B-Smart comes in a 3 wheeled version which is a dream to push. it has the option of a carrycot, or you can attach a Britax car seat. It might be compatible with a Maxi Cosi too - I'm sure a stockist could give you some more info

You can add a car seat to the phil and teds explorer - you buy a metal adaptor for it

Just a few you might not have thought of, I'm assuming you want air tyres?

Mothercare Mychoice, the seat starts as a carrycot and changes to a bucket seat.

P&T explorer you can put car seat on top and use toddler seat at bottom.

Icandy Apple

I have a battered old Maclaren Mac3 and even I (ten stone of me) can sit in it! Its a bloody workhorse!

CarrieLou are mountain buggy's quite a lot bigger than P&T's do you know?

Fessa Yes I could indee buy adaptors for my P&T's for a MC car seat but really, I need to replace my P&T's as it has big rips in the side netting and generally I want something new looks ol and tatty! Icandy has certainly been on my list. They look pretty good, just not as sturdy as P&T's.

However, P&T's don't seem to get very good reviews anymore. I think things may have moved on since my last pushchair purchase 4 years ago.

What about single Nipper's - are they good? I guess that doesn't fit my brief but they look quite good.

Mountain Buggy is the best for rough terrain IMO. Not a cheap option though.

Nippers are good but no car seat or carrycot options.

You can get second hand MB on eBay for a very reasonable price these days. They do a good carrycot, and you can get an adaptor for a car seat. They are great with Buggyboards too.
They are big beggars, but they push far far better than a Phil and Ted's.
If you get one without the carrycot, I have a red one for sale if you are interesed?

OK, I think I will rule out a mountain buggy if they are really big. We don't live out in the sticks or anything but have to walk through 5 mins of woodland on school run which can be muddy and necessitates a 3 wheeler. Also can't stand maclarens and other light things that tip up as soon as the child gets out (if you have shopping hanging off). I am also fairly shallow and want it to look niceish (not that P&T's is v. attractive really)! Right will take a look at Quinny Freestyle and baby jogger (not heard of that one). :)

Quinny speedi's basket looks small. I need something that will take 2 book bags and other child paraphernalia (awful sp???).

I have the iCandy, and a (very old) P&T e3. My apple is definitely as sturdy, if not more so than the P&T, hs suspension and feels bigger/higher. I like the very adjustable handlebar also.

Quinny Freestyle looks ok but wanted to treat myself to a new pushcair ideally as we will be buying very little else new.

That's very good to know Fessa. Maybe that'll be the one...off for another look :)

Mountain buggy's aren't that big - the Swift is quite neat! If you like the Vibe, then the Verve takes a Maxi Cosi seat in single and tandem mode. You can put a maxi cosi seat on the Explorer too and single Sport, I believe. The new Peach Jogger, I am sure, will take a Maxi Cosi car seat. The Baby Jogger range are worth a look too. I am sure the Elite and probably the Summit take car seats.

You can get adaptors to put a Cabriofix on a P&T Sport, pretty sure you can still get them, or Ebay.

Mountain Buggy isn't any bigger than any other sturdy 3 wheeler. It has a good big seat too. The seats on the iCandy look quite small to me but I haven't tried one.
