Where can I get a stair carpet like this?

I really love this rainbow Cath Kidston carpet but it was discontinued a few years ago. I haven't seen anything like it. Does anybody know how to go about getting a very similar one?

Ah me too! I saved it on my Pinterest years ago not knowing where it was from then tracked it down the other day when someone asked about bright stair carpets. Hope we find it!

Karen that looks great. Have you got a picture of it?

That one you linked was a Cath Kidston one from 6 years ago and sadly no longer available. I found a Daily Fail link to it if you want to look here

You can get rainbow striped runners but nothing quite like that one. Sorry.

This one is from Crucial Trading though:

The Crucial Trading one is hugely expensive, I think I was told £200 a linear metre. It might be possible to get two widths (for stairs) though. I still like the Cath Kidston one best! Maybe we can start a campaign..

Some nice carpets here (nothing to do with me, I just dream of striped carpets everywhere in my home!)

When I called CK today, they said it was part of a small collection but there has to be a way to get it going again!

When we were re-doing our kitchen a few years ago, I managed to secure a laminate for our countertop that had originally come out in the 1950s, had been re-issued 50 years later, then discontinued 3 years prior to my kitchen re-do.

I found a sample if it for sale on ebay, then I called around to various places that had the style of kitchens we like (mid-century modern) and found it.

Sometimes, oddly, etsy has discontinued items for sale. Find some places that sell lots of the brand-maybe some of them have it stashed somewhere.

The Rug Company is quite a high end small brand so I'm not sure it will just turn up like that. Maybe we can all call them and request it, if several people ask it may get them thinking!

I called them up and they said they'd send me a list of what they have currently. But it was apparently £495 a linear metre.

I had a better idea - lets commission a roll between a few of us through a carpet company, it can't be that hard to produce a nice stripe.

SSP- you make a very good point. The laminate I found was indeed made as part of a "retro" collection, by a very large manufacturer. You rightly point out that the carpeting comes from a smaller company.

Roger Oates does stair carpet but don't know if they do wide stripes.

Well I would like anything CK and almost didn't click but it's fantastic. I would love that in my home.

What about having a different colour on each set, you might be able to do it with off cuts and would be much cheaper.

Actually that Daily Mail link said £85/m which sounds more reasonable. They replied to say it's not available but I sent a reply saying quite a few of us were interested in buying not sounding desperate at all so fingers crossed.

It's fabulous. Let's find a carpet maker to make us one Grin

I have messaged a custom rug company already! I don't see why it would be difficult to make really, it's just a stripe in different colours and widths. If the Rug Company don't want our hard earned cash then this is worth a try.

I have also chatted to Roger Oates and sent them the picture. They are getting a quote from their designers. So let's see if this happens...If there genuinely are a bunch of us who want it, it could be cheaper.

Any luck Willow? We are just about to buy a house which needs complete renovation so really want to find something! I have also found the following rugs which can be made into custom sizes.

bright wool
pretty but acrylic

Yes they will do it and sent me an email sample which looks perfect but I would have to order 20m which is out of the question when we only need 6-7 m.
So we are going to go for the Crucial Trading one.
