Where to buy nativity costumes? Help needed with ideas.

We need a nativity costume for the King. Is it possible to buy something cheap (any supermarkets)? If not how do I make one and how do these kinss costumes look like? Is there a particular website which would give me ideas for the kings' costumes so I could think of the material and the decorations? Thanks everyone.

Tesco had some kings I think - I was in there at the weekend buying an Angel costume which was £8.

Supermarkets have them, but if you need to make one, try a brightly coloured shirt/ blouse (grownup) over leggins/tights and a rectangle of brightly coloured material from the market for a cloak. velcro at the corners to fasten?

you could make a simple tunic from a rectangle of bright material with a slit cut in the middle for a neck hole. if you hate sewing put some tape on the inside to stop the split getting too big.

You say, blackeyedsusan, that I need a bright coloured material. May be we can find him a gown which could be used afterwards. I do not really want to waste money on that rubbish. Have seen something for Kings in ASDA and it looked so cheap yet the price was around £8.00. What are we going to do with it afterwards? So, I am prepared to make one myself unless I see something really good in Tesco or Sainsburys.

Does anybody know where to buy tinsel? Where shall we go first, Tesco or Sainsburys ( I have no idea who has a bigger stock of Christmas decorations)? I have not seen tinsel in Asda. Need to buy it today but two supermarkets are in completely different directions. This is what I need www.sainsburys.co.uk/sol/global_search/global_result.jsp?bmForm=global_search&GLOBAL_DATA._search_term1=tinsel&GLOBAL_DATA._searchType=0&bmUID=1291740556248

Worth looking on ebay - though the closer to Christmas the more likely prices are to rise due to late rush of parents looking for THE sheep/angel/shepherd costume.

Been there - this year my son was assigned a camel, as you can imagine not easy to find so I started trawling ebay as soon as I found out and hit the jackpot two weeks ago.

If you're really organised you can get a cheap outfit in January sales for next year....

We got an outfitvery late from the supermarket.Took all the labels off only to find out there was a damage done by someone else. Have been trying to mend it as there was only one suit. We got the tinsels from Tesco.
