national statistics for Key Stage 1 SATs online?

Does anyone know where i can find these scores online?

DD did well and I am very happy with her report. I just would like to know where she sits nationally. If anything some of her scores surprised my by being higher than what I expected. It sort of has me thinking that these tests are really easy and I wonder if everyone gets high scores.

You should, by law, have been given the 2009 national data, along with a table of how many children at your school achieved each level/sub-level for comparison.

feenie - really ? I don't think I have ever been given comparison data ! I have seen it (I think, trying to remember back a year) as a governor - but not as a parent.

I posted this the other day for someone asking for Y6 info - it's definitely a legal requirement at the end of both key stages.

interesting - I always thought you weren't allowed to know how everyone else was doing.

I wonder if small year groups make any difference ? Is there some rule about not doing it for small year groups because you might be able to identify individuals ?

I certainly have never seen the school form you linked to (dig get the individual one for mine last week).

I have got my dd2's report, she is in Y2. I was given her SATs results, for reading, writing and maths. I was not given any comparison data, although the half termly newsletter showed how many children reached L2, but not broken down by sublevel, and not how many L3's were obtained.

Nope, no difference for small year groups - we are a one form entry school and we are legally obliged to include this data. And the legal-ese bit of legislation is from this year, as you can see.

Obviously no-one is checking up on this though, judging by Mners' experiences!

Thanks. We did get the stistics. But the report is at home and I am not. Will see if I can dig it out tonight. DH filed it somewhere -- God only knows where so my hopes are not high for finding it.

Isn't it roughly half get 2s, a quarter get less and a quarter get 3s? Something like that, I think.

Eh? What are the teacher assessment levels. Just when I thought I got it... I'm confused agin.

Oh.. oh... Are these the 1 to 5 scores done in much more detail by the teacher. I hope so. These are good. To be honest I think she scored artificially high on some of the SATs and it makes me think the test is not very accurate.

The end of year levels reported by teachers are the teacher's assessment of your child's NC level NOT SATs scores.

'Teacher's assessment' is largely based on classwork. The SATs tests are only used as supporting evidence to support the final level given.

This has been going on for the last 6 years or so, even though some schools have not caught up with it yet. (How do they get through Ofsted?)

Teacher Assessment is much fairer, as it takes into account a broad range of the children's work across the curriculum.

I think we are talking about the same thing. There is a section of teacher assesment on all of the subjects they took over the year (French, D&T, English, Math, PE, and a few more which escape me now). They are rated 1 to 5. Each section has a lot points below it and each of those gets a 1 to 5. This is what I am talking about. I like this section and I think it reflects my DD and her interests and capabilities much more accurately than the SAT scores. So, if this is what is reported, I am glad.

Does anyone know how this information will be used in year 3 streaming/groups?

I've never seen any kind of comparison data. And I only received SATs scores for dd in reading, writing, speaking & listening, numeracy and science. Should we have received some other marks as well then?
