I'm in full flow of first tri all day nausea and morning and evening sickness. It's worse when I'm tired and nothing helps but sleep, but sometimes all that helps is to eat!

Off the menu is-
All meat
Butter- I used to love hot buttered toast
Hot drinks including tea coffee and fruit teas
cake!
Chocolate

Getting me through-
Pom bear crisps
Pringles
Cheese spread- dairylea etc
Brown bread
Red grapes
Tuna
Salmon
cheese mixed in with ready rice
Fruit pastilles
still lemonade
mashed potato and cheese

What's on your lists?

I hear you! My 'off' list is pretty small though! I tend to find I struggle with decent sized meals, and just snack instead.

Off:
Coffee
Squash

Helping:
Plain cold water
Ice Cream/Ice lollies
Green Grapes
Chocolate Milk
Crisps
Bread (but only chunky nice bread, nothing healthy!)
Cheese on Toast
Cold New Potatoes
Cold Cold Cold yoghurts

Previously a 5 times a week runner ... now I just sleep. Hello weight gain!!

Hello!

My nausea isn't severe, but it is all bloody day. It manages to just to be slightly worse around meal times and I feel a different crap before food than I do after which is interesting....

I'm still eating most things - but eggs are off completely and I was nearly sick in the pub after fish and chips so I'm going to say that's a no.

Ryvita are a definite help however. Although yesterday after feeling particularly crap and in need of something to put in my stomach I had ryvita with peanut butter as a snack and my husband decided that he would have a word with me about how much I am eating....... Angry. Cue absolute fury...

Ok I don't normally snack, but I'd rather do that and risk putting on weight early than feel like I'm going to die! I'm going to keep my snacking covert from now on.....

lemon101 - snack openly! Tell your hubby to politely sod off. You're pregnant and totally allowed to snack if it makes you feel good!

My OH winds me up, but ultimately encourages me to listen to my body even when I wailing on the scales!

lemon101 I snacked through the peak of my nausea on whatever I could stomach - mostly junk - and at 11 weeks I've lost 2.5 kg since my BFP. Eat what you can when you can and don't worry about the weight. Better to eat crisps than nothing.

omg for cheese and ready rice - one of my secret dirty little snack secrets:

pack of ready rice
grated or cubed cheese
cashew nuts or walnuts
jalapenos

microwave the whole filthy mess until the cheese is gooey and stuff in your face!

All I want to eat is McDonalds or plain ham and mayo sandwiches! Feeling like I'm coming out the other side now as I've starting wanting to have raw veg and dips!

I've also been drinking banana nesquik which I would normally turn my nose up at!
So bizarre what these hormones do to you!

I am now in third trimester but was really sick in my first. Lived off salt and vinegar Pringles, salted popcorn, strawberry ribenas and Big Mac meals with diet coke.

newbian and upnorth - words were had and I suspect he'll think twice before he says anything again! Having said that stealth-mode still needs to be deployed. I need a quiet life right now and he's always been a food Nazi (more with himself than me) and its going to take a while to educate him... but educate him I will!

On my off list..
Meat
Milk
Coffee
Anything green / fruit although I'm with you on the grapes!

Things I like..anything salty!
Large bags of kettle salt & vinegar or squares
Toast - thick buttery slices
Macdonalds chips and a large coke (I wish someone would deliver that to my sofa right now!)
Baked beans with cheese on top
Ambrosia rice pudding
Cheesy pasta - carbonara.

All bad, hope the nausea goes soon or I'll be rolled out of the door by the time I have this baby!

Lemon101 .... Food Nazi, I LOVE it!

I don't know about anyone else, but it's not just junk food that helps me .... Junk TV has climbed up my agenda. As I'm not out running, im sat watching all kinds of crap with a family sized bag of crisps ...

12 weeks and they tell me I should be getting over it soon... I HOPE SO!

At my worst I couldn't eat hardly anything. It all tasted like ash and most of it still does. I pretty much lived on almond milk, crackers, pecans, and jello with oranges. Then I discovered if I sipped ginger ale I felt much better but still have no appetite. I've lost 7lbs (3.1kg) which is a little scary.

Oh and I can't get enough of McDonald's french fries which I know are terrible for me. Blush

I can't handle any meat dishes, or anything that smells like cooked food... does that make sense? I love salt and vinegar Snack a Jacks, chips ( from chip shop, lots of vinegar!) Plain yoghurt... yum. Cold milk, wheat type biscuits. Lemonade, and tangerines. I can't deal with veg or anything with complex flavours. Our bodies are clever things. The reason we have food aversions and crave bland food in first trimester is because our embryos don't have the function yet to filter out plant toxins in food. So listen to your dickie tummies it's nature's way of being better safe than sorry.

applecore0317 · 20/04/2015 12:44

My only two aversions were chocolate and pasta... Otherwise I was fine. Am now in the third trimester and back to eating chocolate, but still don't want pasta or and am completely off take aways or anything greasy, after seeing a chicken chow mein in reverse twice I can't face it

chopsface · 20/04/2015 12:51

I'm off chocolate! Nooooo! it was my favourite thing ever! I thought I would go off coffee but I really like the smell of strong coffee at the moment!

I'm craving crisps and savory things, but I don't really know what if you know what I mean? Wandered up and down the aisles of Tesco the other day annoying dh coz I didn't know what I wanted, just what I didn't want!

I ate virtually nothing and lost about 11 lb! Damn nausea!

Now I'm much better, but can't stomach meat, greasy stuff, anything strong tasting, tea (was a world class tea addict before) etc.

Am liking veggie things, fresh fruit and veg etc. and fish. If I was allowed I would live off sushi.

Oh dear. I pretty much just ate almost an entire loaf of white Tiger bread with butter. It feels so nice to eat it!

10 weeks today and Ive put on almost half a stone. I'm too tired to worry though Confused

Report
KO80 · 20/04/2015 15:43

I feel sick all the time, although now i'm 11 weeks it's not as bad.

Love
crisps
Jelly sweets
chocolate milk
Bread
Butter
Chicken

Hate
Halloumi
potatoes (except chips)
peppers
basically i can't eat food during the evening, eating dinner at night makes me gag, and i then feel sick for the rest of the evening. I feel so bad for my dh as he cooks lovely dinners that I just can't eat, he is very understanding.

Dose anyone else have trouble eating in the evening?
