Without rolling around from side to side like a seal in a desperate attempt to get comfy every single night.

Do you have a support pillow. Saved my sanity

Yes :( I spent an extortionate amount on a memory foam support pillow but to no avail. I still can't get comfy :(

Oh bugger. No advice then. How long have you got left?

Snap! I'm currently so cosy on my right side! In about 5minutes my hips will start to hurt and the huge rolling process will begin to make it all the way onto my left side!
Aaaagh 6 weeks & 4 days left! I hope

Hi, I feel your pain. I haven't sleep well since my bump started to grow and I'm only half way there! I've been awake about an hour now already. I thought coming into the last hurdle that tiredness would whack you out. Sad to hear not!
Hope it improves!

Agreed. I am currently waking almost every hour of the night. Surely I will get more sleep with a newborn - at least my hips won't be hurting!

I had that in my last pg and when I wasn't working I would split my sleep into two sessions as the first few hours I would wake up and get back to sleep but after about 5 hours it would be really tough to go back to sleep. on workdays I would get up for an hour or so in the night and then try and go back to sleep as I think lying in bed tossing and turning just made it hurt more.

And yes - I dis get more sleep when she was born as I could lie on my back and sleep in comfort between feeds. Grin

I no the feeling 37 weeks and felt like this for weeks on end. Another crap night last night. I've managed to get into comfy positions with support pillow, but for some reason I just need to constantly move if I don't do it really slow I get severe pelvic pain. Plus I can't sleep because my mind wonders off and then I have bad dreams. The joys Hmm xx

Try putting some extra padding underneath you. I slept with a double duvet folded under and a dream genie. It kind of worked... Well, it was an improvement at least!!

And yes, I got much more sleep once he was nearly three born.

I remember your pain! The only time I ever felt comfy when pregnant was swimming or once when I had a massage on a water-filled mat...

Does anyone you know have a water bed you could borrow? Do they even still exist?! Just wondering whether that might have some magic properties of distributing the weight/make you feel floaty rather than like an aching walrus!

you poor soul! i remember it well. I just wanted to sleep for longer than twenty minutes before I had to move. Thanks

Snap! 36 weeks and beyond fed up. My hips just ache then I end up on my back and then panic that I'm harming the baby. Pretty sure that even with a newborn I will get better quality sleep. I'm exhausted :0/

Sorry about the moan. I'm only half way but seem to be huge this time. Dp is bloody irritating. I usually have a no TV rule with ds but we have had cebeebies on since breakfast and I feel like it's saved my life. Having a bad week :(

Oh no Needacosmo, I also can't get a good nights kip so don't have any amazing advice, but big, massive hugs! XXX I can't imagine doing this with a little one as well, even the (very needy) cat does my head in on a morning. :/

Am at week 39 & my hips kill me each night. Have to turn each hour due to the pain. I have 3 pillows under my head (incline for heartburn), one under my bums (the incline helps delay the onset of hip pain) & the genie on the side to support the bump & between my legs. Yet, am up every hour. And sorry to say this but from past experience I've found that it continues after delivery too for a couple of months!! The only silver lining is being able to lie flat by then. Hmm

I go to an aquanatal class where women actually fall asleep in the 'relaxation' bit at the end - floating in the water on two artistically knotted woggles. Everyone is so knackered that even on the slightly dodgy 'ground' that is a swimming pool surface, everyone's asleep!

But yes, I feel your pain. I resort to paracetamol on some nights, or liquid piriton on others. At this point I feel that a decent night's sleep is more important that other things with drugs frankly.

I'm 41 weeks now and do struggle but I sleep on my own in the spare room where the bed has a memory foam topper, much much more comfy. I am def more comfortable on my right side and seem to get pelvic pain on my left so start right then turn few times but been sleeping much longer bouts ( between toilet trips of course). I also have a long pillow I shape into a v and lay my head on that with a pillow between my legs. I have also played a natal hypnotherapy relax CD that works sometimes.

Another one struggling here... 24 weeks Friday and driving DH nuts with my wriggling. Side to side to back... Wake up, panic, side again, crazy dreams. Then had thrush so add wake up itching to that mix. I'm knackered. Here's to a peaceful night for us all.

Totally feeling everyone's pain! I'm 38 weeks with dc4 and can honestly say that the sleep I get with a newborn although broken is much better quality than when heavily pregnant.

I went into my local Starbucks yesterday and the girl (who knows me) said omg you look sooo tired thanks a fucking lot mate!! Hmm

That's fine though. 5 hours of semi decent sleep would be great. I reckon I got 3 hours unbroken last night, the rest was really fitful and filled with toilet trips. In the first hour of lights out, I went to the loo 5 times.

I feel your pain and it's driving me crazy. I'm so uncomfortable and in pain every night that I get up at about 5ish every morning as I just can't stand it anymore.

The worse thing is just when I am comfy I need to get up for a wee.....just can't win.

It's happening again! This insomnia is definitely preparing me for when the baby arrives! I'll be a dab hand at sleepless nights!
