Hollywood wax during pregnancy? Extra ouch?

Has anyone had a full bikini wax i.e. A Hollywood or Brazilian during pregnancy?

I can't see the ahem...'area'...anymore and I have asked DH to help with removal with disastrous but hilarious results.

Just wondering if waxing during pregnancy is considered safe as you are more prone to infection etc

I go to a salon to it done once a month.. The girls at the salon say they have quite a few clients who are pregnant, and many even come 1-2 weeks before the due date

It is considered safe, but in my experience it hurts a lot more than when not pregnant! I get mine done regularly and cope well with pain, but have only been once whilst pregnant and noticed a huge difference in the pain level! Even having my legs done, which is normally no big deal at all, hurts more.

I used to do the hollywood. Just go full bush! It's really liberating! I take my toddler in the bath with me sometimes and i don't want him to see a pubeless woman and think that that is normal.

My husband can go on porn if he wants to see a pre pubescent minge. He said he's okay with that arrangement. Only joking. I don't think he gives a fuck either way though.

I can't think of any thing more painful when not pregnant I certainly couldn't cope now with my swollen lady garden lol but I know my friend did and she was fine.

I ended up nearly drowning my self in bath the other day trying to tidy up my lady garden literally rolled over lol I'm assuming its one of those pregnancy things ill look back at and laugh on day : p

Is immac safe to use when pg? I am only 18 weeks and can see down there and what I see is growing fast but am too chicken to wax if it hurts!

I've had waxing throughout. In fact I had a wax yesterday in prep for my csection. I'm 38+3. It's fine.

I want to know this too. Hopefully it's one of those things that seems worse thinking about it than it actually is if that makes sense x

I just had a Brazilian at 11 weeks and it was fine, no more painful than when not pregnant. I did ask if it was meant to get more painful later and the therapist said most of her clients thought not. She did say it required a bit more creativity to do the underneath bit (as you can't easily pull your knees up to your chest!) so I'm looking forward to that!

I do hot wax (rather than strip wax where it's warm) which is less painful anyway, so maybe give that a go if you're worried about pain?

I shaved throughout though DH used to do it for me when I couldn't see it.

I don't know about waxing but I have tried immac before pregnancy and I was agony!!
Maybe I'm just sensitive but it felt like it was burning after only 30 seconds and even after washing it straight off i still couldn't sit down properly for a week!!!
But also had a similar problem with tingle lube so could just be me!!
Personally I just went with shaving what I could feel!!

I'm wondering whether to get some of those little safety razors - you can't cut yourself but they're a little less 'close'. Still it's just to keep everything tidy - I'm not a bar naked lady myself Grin just a neat rectangle.

Think I'll be going down the waxing route as I sliced myself quite badly, and found a patch that I'd obviously missed for a week... Blush

There's a thread in mums nets classics about veet/immac. Well worth a read. It's called something about immacing a babies head Grin
