Actualy, just thinking that there's no reason why we can't start a new thread at the end of each month to update our countdown - not like MNHQ will ban us from doing this!

You are incorrigible. poor Deb will have a melt down! I am going to have to get started on Christmas preparations this year though - I'm going to have my hands rather full in December!

I'm very bored at work and it looked like a lovely day outside when I came in this morning. Am killing time browsing the internet trying to remember what I need for the new baby. I have done nothing! So far I have found an isofix base on gumtree for £40 for my infant seat - we didn't have one last time. They are £80 on amazon at the moment, so might see if I can get a second hand one. I take it they are not the same as car seats in terms of buying second hand?

Marking place - and deb forgot to say yes you can get bejeweled on ds - it's either on touchmaster game(can't remember which version) or there is a jewel quest game out soon.

I'm speechless, but actually quite pleased to have my name in the thread title, does that make me very sad? Christmas was actually mentioned in our house this week as dh came home from Salzburg with parts for the car and a Christmas present for me, I hope he didn't buy it from the car parts shop!Also feels like Autumn here too, miserable weather.

Have had the buyers here this weekend and they are so excited about buying our house and starting their new life. It's still looking like completion date of about 25th October so at least now we have something to work to, but they haven't exchanged on their house yet.

Back from night away in London at the wedding. Got back this morning. We really enjoyed the wedding it was elegant, simple, and didn't go on for 12 hours. Chinese banquet style catering (bride of Chinese origin) which was fabulous. She looked stunning. Funny speeches. Very stylish location at the Royal Institute of British Architects. It's the first time I have ever been to a London wedding and it made a refreshing change from country weddings in the middle of nowhere. P had a lovely time with his GPs looking after him. He slept well and was good for them. They loved taking him out and getting lots of complements from passers by.

MIL and I seem to be back on an even keel thankfully. I hate falling out with people and I tend to feel upset about it for a long time afterwards. I think she was mortified that she had upset me. Before they left she made a point of saying that they are very happy to and help out over the next few months as much as I need. It's a tough one as I partly really welcome the attention that they can lavish on P, and the break I get as a result. On the other hand I do have to compromise alot more than I am used to.

Anyway, thank-you for indulging me in my MIL rants over the last few days. It really helped to know that I could offload here, even if that still wasn't enough to stop me exploding on Friday night.

I'm very stressed about this nanny interview... I've never interviewed anyone in my life and I so hope she's good (otherwise we'll be calling the agencies!). Wish me luck...

spider, the wedding sounds lovely. We went to a London wedding years ago in Kensington (v wealthy Jewish family) and it was fab. Good luck with the in laws. Try and take all the help offered - with dp's hours it will be tough otherwise. (I can help too, of course, as I'll have two toddlers by the time Spider 2 is born - one more won't make any difference! ).

It's sunny here, too. DH has taken the boys and T out so it's just me and DD1 in the house. I'm still dusting and clearing up but it's beginning to come together. Poor DD1 was up in the night with v painful earache. It's better now but she has lots of discharge from her ear so her eardrum might have perforated. I'll take her to the GP once the post-bank holiday rush has calmed down, to see if she's ok for swimming. Poor little thing. We've had this a few times and it's horrid for her. She was sobbing with the pain

Spider the wedding sounds lovely. I love London weddings. We went to a brilliant one a couple of days before DS2 was born. I had a show in the morning and mild contractions throughout the day, but didn't tell DH, and various guests (obstetricians, midwives etc) were on standby just in case .

I've been out shopping and there's snow on top of the mountains, it's August for goodness sake.

It's lovely here - not a bank holiday though! glad I don't work Mondays.

Have discovered a new mum and tots group that is really nearby, and C seemed to really enjoy it. will definitely be using it throughout the winter, although next time I think I may leave her scooter at home and just walk - it took nearly as long to get there as we spent playing, and I managed to trip over the damn thing while helpnig her propel it, grazing my hand and my knee, luckily landed on all fours, but giving my neighbour a bit of a fright in the process. Think I have developed pregnancy clumsiness as this is my second fall in 5 days.

I have just been to buy C ballet slippers as she has been sliding about in her socks so far. You've never seen anything so cute or so tiny! I have resisted any further ballet paraphenalia, unlike some of the other mums at the class. tutus are for dressing up at home, not actual ballet class, yes?

I am going to try and convince C she needs a sleep - wish me luck...

Those ballet shoes sound v cute, Biscuits. I've made some enquiries about T doing ballet and there is a class but it will be the same day as nursery (I'm thinking about sending her to nursery a couple of days a week, but dithering as I don't think I am ready for it. She'd be fine.).

Remember when Neenz got angry with her DH for using 2 knives? Well I think I am being afflicted with the same hormone induced anger at DH. First storming out of the house the other night because of MIL, and now getting increasingly cranky with DH for pissing around fiddling with his computer whenever he thinks he can get away with it. I am so fed up of his constant tinkering. He always seems so optimistic that the latest purchase will magically transform his network, and it never seems to work, and then he thinks this is justification enough to disappear for hours at a time whilst I am left like a beached whale sitting on the floor trying to do Lego and cook P's tea.

sorry for more moaning.

Forgot to add that having summoned him upstairs to help, he sat at the table whilst P had his tea and told me about how much he has done today whilst watching me empty the dishwasher.

He also brought the entire laundry basket downstairs this morning (unprompted by me so good behaviour on that front), didn't sort it into lights and darks let alone put a wash on and then went running for an hour. Guess who put the washing on?

Biscuits, hope you are ok after the fall. At least yours didn't involve water and frightening frogs.

Spider my dh wouldn't even bring the basket downstairs. He does do most of the cooking when he is at home though, so I can't complain too much.

If it makes you feel any better Debs I haven't bought any xmas presents yet, even though ds1 presented me with his first draft christmas present list at least three weeks ago.
