Posted this originally in parenting, should have posted it here.

For those of you who believe/interpret revelations, what is your take on the "mark"? When the chip comes, will you be lining up in the queue? Or will you be protesting? Ya ya, i know its already here, and thats the scary part. Any body got a fresh take on what the "mark" means?
"For those who hath wisdom"...

Some of us "chip" our dogs and animals. Do you think "chipping" humans is the mark of the beast. This is to Christians who have read revelations and thought about it. part of the bible is revelations and in my understanding, is a large part of the bible. Quite straight forward actually, when or if the "system" prevents you from using money, credit cards, etc, and you have to rely on a mark to "buy or sell", just like it says in the bible, will you do it? It says the mark will be on the hand or the forehead.

Yes, very interesting. Did you see that Mile Leigh film a couple of years ago and the quite mad but obviously brilliant lead character went into a long tirade about this? It was amazing!

As much as the bible talks about loving God and our neighbours, it also talks about very uncomfortable things. There may come a time, according to many christians who believe this, that without the "mark" as stated in teh bible, we will starve. We wont be able to buy, we wont be able to sell. God will look out for us, but still many will perish.

If you interpret the "mark" as a sign of "satan" will you have your kids "marked"? or will you follow another route? Or will you even think about it.

I really can't see how this can be seen as 'the sign of the beast'?? Very strange post...

Revelations may be an important part of the bible but I wouldn't say it was a big part. my bible is a good news bible, it is 323 pages long and revelations is only 17 pages of that. As for the chip, I hadn't even thought about it and certainly am not worried that it is the mark of Satan. Surely the true mark of Satan would be in how you live your life (if you lived it in an evil way). The bible was written by man not God - even if you believe that it is God's words. Mind you i wouldn't say I "hath wisdom" so maybe someone more knowledgable would answer differently.

Well it's happening already! Apparently near impossible to hire a car in the States without a credit card. We are all traceable-cctv,mobiles,credit cards, bills, hence all those people who reject it all by hiding out in Montana or wherever it is. Too late to worry about it now.

It also says that the mark of God will be on the foreheads of the saved.

Can't wait to be chipped:

want it to remember all passwords/pin numbers/shopping list

also want a chip instead of a mobile phone as keep losing mine

May the wheels of technology roll swiftly on.

Not sure writers of old testement could predict the future, were probably being symbolic. That always seems to be the excuse for translating gobbledigook into some daft'rule' for people to live by

The mark is 666 isn't it? I'm confused now because isn't that the mark of the beast so why then would God be looking out for the marked??

Doesn't say what God's mark is just that there is one. I guess it must be different though

The "mark" of God to christians, is not a mark but is in the heart as far as I know anyway. Of course the evangelicals will tell you that being "saved" is the "mark" of God or the Catholics will tell you being "babtised" is God's mark, so to speak.

Anyway, the reason for this post, is not strange. It has been the topic of conversation since King James rewrote the bible at least. Its addressed to Christians or those who have an opinion on it. I wonder why it says in the bible, "so that no man may buy or sell, without the mark of the beast.." Why is trading particularly referred to in the bible? That is my point really, if its trading, and we have to get a "mark" what will become of us and our children if we dont take the mark.

This is an old old question and shouldnt surprise anyone. I am really interested in what people have to say about this. Life will be very tough if the current interpretations about this are true, i.e. we will starve unless we have access to our own food production.

By the way, this is a post, just like the JW post. Nobody is forcing it down anyones throat. so before anybody gets all pedantic and sanctimonious, dont.
