Do tell so I can throw things at the telly.
I have plenty of time for reasoned atheist argument Tink but DD is a card-carrying loon do you not think?
Rhuby, "Dishy" Dawkins is an atheist who really hates Christians, fatally undermining his otherwise interesting arguments IMO

bugger

I must be as well Marina because I find myself agreeing with everything he says

But you are nice and not unhinged.
Seriously, I can't see past his apparent hatred to look at all his arguments objectively.

And that is an unusually flattering picture, c'mon!!

I'd be interested in seeing this! Could someone post when it's on please?

Report
BadgerBadger · 09/01/2006 10:42

Not post when it's on but the time/channel!

Hmmmm, he looks a bit old and smug, and his hair's too floppy and his forehead is too high and that chip on his shoulder does him no justice, apart from that he's ok I suppose.

Rhubarb · 09/01/2006 10:43

Is he Christian-spotting with those binoculars?

Uzi not pictured then...
If RD had his way we'd be crucified upside-down along the M40 and have to hide out in caves Rhuby

Badger - 8 pm Channel 4.

He's got a bow and arrow out of shot there.

He does look a tad young, I admit. Even my church-going mother concedes a weakness for him though

So are you both going to sit down and watch it together Tinker

I just tell he's right and so am I, you can't argue with logic

Young? Did you say young? You gotta be kidding me right? Depends on your definition of young I suppose.

He's not that good looking in the flesh (although he has weird intense eyes). I agree with most of what he says, but I do think he enjoys getting people's backs up. I missed the programme- was it good?

Report
harpsichordcarrier · 13/01/2006 09:27

it was a HOOT
he is just FABULOUSLY arrogant and basically the programme consisted of him going round and insluting lots of people
including some loony mad eyed stary American fundamentalist

Report
Tinker · 13/01/2006 11:07

I do wish he wouldn't pick loony fundamentalists all he time though - the crazy-eyed American and the ex-Jew turned Muslim fundamentalist. These are such easy targetss for his arguments. But there's more next week. Liked his comments at the end about us all no longer believing in Thor, Isis, Apollo etc but atheists have just gone one god further.

you're right Tinker of course
it is sheer entertainment rather than reasoned debate
the jew turned Muslim was priceless though wasn't he
"you don't control your women..."
lololol except bloody scary
hopefully it might get more balanced

Whenever someone does have a criticism about faith, they always pick out the nutters or the cult religions! They just can't seem to get their heads around the idea that most of us religiously-minded people live very ordinary lives, and indeed some of us go out of our way to help other people in the name of that religion. Just as atheists do in the name of atheism! Don't see why he should have to condemn religion as being loony and full of crackpots. Surely that description just applies to the world in general?

Tinker · 13/01/2006 11:48

Did laugh (nervously) at the "you don't control your women" comments. Sure RD was doing a Woody Allen impression a la whatshisname (scarey brother)in Annie Hall (?). How precise is that?
