Our tooth fairy is slightly hard up so only gives a shiny £1 coin, but it cannot be in any other form than £1 coin, cue some frantic knocking on neighbours doors in search of change!!

The official average for a tooth is £2.05.

My dentist said so as DTD2s tooth was hanging on by a thread (I think that 'figure' was ppublished that morning from some survey or something.

Anyway, we are not in teh London weighting zone, so the Tooth fairy only stretches to £1 in our house!!!

Our tooth fairy is even more frugal - 50p in our house.

DD was only just 5 when she lost her first tooth, and 50p is more than enough, she hasn't even spent her takings from the 4 teeth so far.

Plus the 50p piece is so pretty, and quite a big coin. She was chuffed to bits..

In this house the first tooth is worth £1 plus a book about the tooth fairy.

After that its £1 per tooth, although we've already had one late visit so tooth fairy had to leave an apologetic note too (and that was only tooth no.3 on child no.1)

It's a £1 in our house but DD has informed us that she'll be saving all of her teeth in a jar first, then putting them under the pillow in one go so she gets £20 - she said she might spend the individual pounds on sweets and instead wants the 20 for something really big!

oh, meant to add that DD is more than happy with £1 as her bestfriend only got some random amount like 34p recently

(friends parents are not poor by any means but are notoriously disorganised though so I can imagine them scrabbling around down the back of sofa, in the ashtray in the car etc trying to scrape together some money.)
