Calling all Catastrophe fans: We’re very excited to announce that co-authors and stars Sharon Horgan and Rob Delaney will be joining us for a webchat tomorrow eve (9-10pm), directly before transmission of the final episode of the season.

Sharon Horgan is an irish actress, writer and director. She won a British Comedy Award for her BBC show Pulling which was also nominated for a BAFTA for Best Sitcom. Rob famously rose to fame on twitter where his hilarious tweets soon caught the eye of comedy promoters. He now has 1.2 million followers and it was on twitter where he first met Sharon and they conceived the idea for the series.

Join us on this thread on Tuesday evening to chat with Sharon and Rob and if you’re unable to join us then, post your questions in advance on this thread.

I fucking LOVE this show!! Me and husband watch and we're like, they are us! Gonna put a note in the diary now.

Sharon and Rob you do great work, just great great work. Please make a million series.

tomatotoad · 30/11/2015 16:51

I haven't seen this - what channel is it on?
I loved 'Pulling' so will be giving this show a go.
(Please bring back Pulling though!)

Boakahontas · 30/11/2015 17:13

Love, love, love the show.
I really hope that there's another series!

MuddhaOfSuburbia · 30/11/2015 17:20

Oh my GODDD

OnlyHereForTheCamping · 30/11/2015 18:21

Ha!

DickDewy · 30/11/2015 18:28

Me and DH totally love this too! They have captured the realities of a relationship so well I've actually idly panicked a bit that it IS about us! Anyway.

Sharon's character is actually pretty awful, maybe that's why I identify with her so much.

I'd like to know how hard it is for Rob and the other bloke to film those wanking scenes. They're so er, graphic. There would never be the equivalent with Sharon's character, is that just a step too far?

cjbk1 · 30/11/2015 18:53

I love the show, even more so this series, I'd like to know, in a non-pervy way, what does real life Sharon do for exercise and lifestyle, I'd love that figure again and I know she's a real life mum/mammy, maybe I'm just getting confused because Sharon the character is a big boozer and doesn't bang on about exercise Wink

Hallamoo · 30/11/2015 19:01

Loved the first series, although have to say I'm not enjoying the second series as much. I'd have liked it to focus more on family life/relationships, rather than the gratuitous sex/wanking. I'm finding it a bit crude tbh (and I'm not easily shocked).

RomComPhooey · 30/11/2015 19:27

Sharon and Rob you do great work, just great great work. Please make a million series.

Same here. DH and I love the show. We often howl with laughter.

FannyTheChampionOfTheWorld · 30/11/2015 19:29

I felt like the first series was pure comedy and the second one is kind of focusing more on the drama. Is that intentional and do they think it will continue in that vein in the third series, if there is one?

RomComPhooey · 30/11/2015 19:30

OK, a question - is the running joke about Muiren's name (a guess on spelling, although I could have cheated by looking on IMDB and been all smug) based on real life experience? If so, I'm guessing Sharon's.

RomComPhooey · 30/11/2015 19:31

I ask as someone with an unusual name, as it has the ring of truth about it.

FannyTheChampionOfTheWorld · 30/11/2015 20:03

I thought it might be Sharon's too, according to Wikipedia one of her kids has one of those Irish names that zero English people can pronounce properly! Many of us feel her pain.

Twerking9to5 · 30/11/2015 20:22

Another huge fan here!

I was wondering about the writing process. Do you lock yourselves away, making each other howl with laughter, until it's done? Or is it more methodical/stressful/long distance?

RomComPhooey · 30/11/2015 20:38

Also, how did you meet and realise you'd make good writing partners?

RomComPhooey · 30/11/2015 20:42

I've probably used up my allocation, but DH wants to know the answer to this one:

How long before Rob cracked and asked Carrie Fisher about Star Wars?

JustRosieHere · 30/11/2015 21:06

I don't have a question, I will try to think of one. Just want to say I love the show. It's the first comedy in ages that actually makes me laugh out loud.

fufulina · 30/11/2015 21:56

I also have no question, and also wanted to say that episode one, series one, made me laugh more than anything I've watched on telly in fifteen years.

The rest of series one and this series have been brilliant. I love how it is all just a tiny bit too close to the bone. I spend a lot the time watching it slightly uncomfortably tense. But in a good way...

iwantgin · 30/11/2015 22:11

Oooh excellent! I shall post my question tomorrow.

Beachday · 30/11/2015 22:25

I've just discovered this show, love it!

PerkinsRents · 30/11/2015 23:53

DH and I love the show and although season 2 was a slow burn for us we're now enjoying it more than season 1 as it's dealt with big issues balancing careers and new roles after kids. postnatal depression, elderly parents with real warmth and humour.

One question: how the he'll do they afford that house?

IrritableBitchSyndrome · 01/12/2015 01:29

How did I not know there is a second series!!? LOVED series one.

Ahh fantastic. I am still watching series one and have no useful questions but I love the show. Hope I think of something that isn't just embarrassingly fawning before tonight.

berylbainbridge · 01/12/2015 07:50

I really enjoy the show too. Only watched first series a few weeks ago. I'm not sure how to put this question without seeming rude.... I think the characters of Sharon and Rob are kind of arseholey. Realistic, believable and very, very funny etc but arseholes a lot of the time! Was this a deliberate choice to make them quite unsympathetic as characters?

berylbainbridge · 01/12/2015 08:10

Maybe I should have said flawed..... the characters are flawed! Shock
