I have 3 small children, youngest of whom is only 4 mths.

I had blood tests done which have shown a fsh level over 40. And progesterone is very low. Doctor said I am menopausal. It is such a shock as women in my family have often had babies in their forties.

I googled fsh levels and apparently I wouldn't even be given Ivf if I wanted it (which I don't). I just can't believe this has happened - it's so out of the blue.

I thought there would be a gradual approach to the menopause. I have no symptoms at all - just no period.

I don't know what to expect and am quiet shocked. My baby is so young but I feel like I am old.

We probably would not have had a fourth baby but I don't like that the choice has been taken away.

I'll go back to the doctor in three months for repeat bloods but , based on internet research, I imagine the results aren't going to be very different.

I have no question as such. Just wanted to get it out there.

There was a chat thread for those with early menopause, but it seems to have gone quiet (I'll see if I can do find it for you, even if not active it may have helpful posts).

Have your internet researches included the Daisy Network?

As you are so young, it'll be worthwhile reading up on HRT between now and your next appointment.
