Opens door and walks into empty room. Finds chair and sits down. Coughs - it echoes.

Erm, good morning. I'm Buzzbuzzbuzz and I'm a dietaholic. You name it, I've tried it. I've got 7 stone to lose and on Monday I'm starting on a soups and shakes VLCD. It's the last diet I'm ever going to do, so it's going to work.

It's a bit loneley in here. Anyone fancy joining me for a chat? Come on, pull up a chair and let's talk bad breath, wind, spare skin, metabolic rates and hunger.

This diet must be affecting my head. I'm doing low carb, not low cal.

Erm, but soups/shakes etc is low cal. It might be low carb as well, but fundamentally it's low cal more than anything else - i.e. it's a diet that will leave you hungry.

'Real' low carb isn't like that. Check out bootcamp or paleo instead. There are people over on bootcamp who have lost the sort of amounts you're looking at; I know someone who has lost over 60kg eating Paleo - but without starving themselves.

It is low cal too but I don't feel at all hungry. No idea why. In fact I'm feeling really good. It seems the main focus is carbs though. The only limit is 50g carbs per day.

What brand are you using Self?

How many cals per pack/day

I did Cambridge a while ago but I just don't think I can go back to packs. I am trying to eat low carb but also watching the calories.

maybe try this thread in weightloss chat (ie neither specific to low carb or low cal) www.mumsnet.com/Talk/weight_loss_chat/1977082-Brand-new-shiny-VLCD-thread-LighterLife-Cambridge-etc or post again in that section as prob some people would like a new thread if just starting?

Good luck self you sound very determined Grin

It's Billys Diet. 4 items per day from soups, shakes, meals or bars. I've also had carb free noodles and rice. I'm finding it quite easy. Drinking gallons of water and had celery too. Had G and T last night but my friend says it's really dangerous to drink alcohol when u r on low carb. Looking forward to first weigh in Monday. Need to lose 6 stone by early July. Heck!
