Pregnant TINY model! Wow

This cannot be real, surely!?
If this woman genuinely is 8 months pregnant (like me who has a 'tiny/neat bump') then how big is that baby and just...how?
Thoughts?

gosh those comments are nasty. killing her baby? really?

its perfectly possible depending in position of baby to have really small bumps. so e people don't even realise they are pregnant or look pregnant.

I would trust that no reputable gym wouldn't have explained to her what would be ok and what wouldn't?

I'm sure drs would also have been clear about what would be harmful.

I thought exercising in pregnancy was a good thing

she's tiny.

going to the gym is fine (I did until 8 months). not sure about the protein shakes though. says the person who mainlined fat coke instead.

The only logical explanations I can think of:

  1. She is freakishly tall to the point that the baby is laid flat rather than curled up
  2. The baby is gonna be small, really small
  3. Her dates are wrong?!

I too was small when pregnant - i weighed 8 1/2 st when I gave birth and had a small baby but my belly was more than double that! Interesting to see how the baby turns out. Maybe she has mega strong tummy muscles that hold the baby in more?!

She still has 7 weeks to go, a lot of growing time yet. My bump was no bigger than hers until about 31 weeks. the rest of my body was nothing like hers however

My friend never looked pregnant, she didn't even wear maternity trousers. She had amazing stomach muscles though from being a dancer when she was younger. Baby was quite happily tucked up and when born weighed just over 7lb.

Wow, I was bigger at three or four months than that! She looks like she carrying it all in her thighs and bum….they seem quite big in comparison the the rest of her very slender frame.

I carried my son with hardly a bump either. I had very strong stomach muscles and a long torso. Apparently that kept him in a position under my ribs (the constant rib pain makes me think they were correct). He was born 7lb 8oz and perfectly healthy.

I would wager that it takes a lot of working out (and restricted eating) to look like that at eight months pregnant.

Not normal or healthy or worth emulating imho.

I hardly had a bump until a a couple months ago, but i never knew someone could be so teeny tiny - I bumped into a lady walking the canal by me a while back and she was quite tall, around 6"1 and almost due but barely showing. Was telling me her first was 8llbs and her current baby was expected to be the same (essentially telling me not to worry that i was small too which was nice).
I now look like i've just stuffed a football under my shirt haha, all neat.

Not normal or healthy?

Think she looks fine

I had barely a bump when expecting both healthy sized dc, I am very tall though at 6ft and I think that was the reason.

Agree about the height thing - I'm 5'9" & had much smaller bumps than friends who were just 5' who had similar sized babies. I guess there's more room for the baby to spread out.
I never had strong stomach muscles but makes sense that would contain the bump more too rather than it all hanging out...

A couple of weeks ago I asked a mum at school if her ds could come to play the next day, she had to tell me that she was due to give birth that day (induced, full term) I had no idea she was pregnant at all. She was perfectly slim, thin even. I saw her the week after, no baby with her. I had to ask if she'd had it or not. It was just 4lbs. Bizarre. I was like a fucking house with mine! Confused

I was pretty small too. I am sure I only got to 34 inches around at 9 months.

It's amazing how different people can be. With my first I was big and gained 4stone....he was 7.2 at birth.....just a year later his sister was born....I gained 8lbs and she was 6.2. Many people didn't realise I was pregnant at 38 weeks!

Some of the comments she got really grind my gears. You should exercise while pregnant - it's really important and the idea you shouldn't is outdated. Along with eating for two.

A bigger risk to an unborn baby's health is excessive weight gain in pregnancy.

I find it sad that so much of the focus in pregnancy is on how you look. That is largely a lottery of genetics, position and muscles. Healthy can look very different on different women. Healthy is what matters.

I agree with pps she is likely very tall. It would be amazing to see a 5' tall person who looked like that at 8m.
If she is tall maybe also broad?
It would be easier to exercise in pg if the bump is small, i can hardly bend at 5m

I was the same with DS (my middle pregnancy), nowhere near as toned though!

I stayed a size 8-10 throughout and never wore maternity clothes. He was 5lb 10oz so a little one but i was the healthiest i've ever been in my adult life when i was carrying him. I felt fantastic and had loads of energy.

I wasn't huge with either of my DDs but not as small as with DS, i remember loads of school gate mums looking shocked when i turned up with a pram as only those who i knew well knew i was pregnant, you'd not have guessed it to look at me.

I think she looks great Smile

My SIL looked essentially like that at 8 months with her first baby (with her second baby she looked like that by 3 months, though...). Baby was a good weight in the end, too.

Report
Sidge · 12/03/2015 22:08

At a risk of being pedantic she isn't 8 months pregnant, she's 33 weeks and still has 7 weeks to go.

She does look very well though, no bloating or puffiness. I imagine it's a combination of genetics, healthy diet and exercise.

With DD1 whilst I didn't look at all like that I didn't go into my maternity uniform until I was 26 weeks and only then because I couldn't do the button up on my skirt (military uniform.) I didn't buy any maternity clothes and just wore regular clothes a size bigger.

I'm only 5 foot 1 though and very short in the body so with babies 2 and 3 I looked like a Teletubby by 16 weeks...
