Does anyone else think John was a little miffed that MN hadn't taken an interest in him already and decided to bring this to our attention?

Not at all. Mr. Hemming is a firm believer in the principle that justice is best served by having the widest possible public debate over court proceedings. I'd be fascinated to read his views on this case.
