Couples who both have low fertility levels (as presumably Nicole and Tom have) are unlikely to be able to concive, but that does not mean that if they partnered a person with high fertility levels they would not be able to conceive. Infertility is often a combination of low levels in both partners.

He and his first wife may have been sub-fertile too.

If he is gay, why is he always having relationships with women? In this day and age, I wouldn't have thought he had to pretend for the sake of decency, although maybe the Scientologists don't acknowledge homosexuality?
