I have shirts I got for xmas, have worn once and not seen since!

I pointed out to him that there was nothing stopping him from doing some of his own ironing now and again....It is pretty embarrassing though. I just cant seem to keep up with it all and only ever seem to skim the surface iykwim. Its not like I iron EVERYTHING like some people do.

I iron...

Trousers, jeans,skirts, dresses.
T-shirts, shirts, jumpers.

I dont iron....

Bedding, underwear, nightwear etc.

What about everyone else? What do you iron and how do you keep on top of it??

I don't iron anything
dh's shirts get hung up straight out of the washing machine
why couldn't he have ironed them himself if he was that bothered?

Just stop thinking you need to iron everything - and look out for clothes in materials that won't crease badly. Honestly. It will change your life.

I don't iron any of the kids things. They either get tumble dried, folded and put away, or hung up to dry to let creases fall out, then hung in wardrobes. Only thing that gets ironed are a couple of shirts of DH's and a few shirts/blouses of mine. We are not a family of trampy, creased people, I promise . You do not need to iron jeans, for example. Just smooth them out and hang up while wet.

Life is too short for ironing!

I iron very little.

DH does his own, begrudgingly, most of the time. The hints don't work, I have enough to do.

When I went on maternity leave I gave up ironing everything apart from shirts . I'm just back at work and am only ironing work clothes or any nice clothes if we're going out etc.

I was amazed at how clothes seem to still look fine once you've had them on an hour if you dont iron them. Go on try it .

Now as soon as clothes are dry I can fold them up and put them in drawers instead of having them pile up in my spare room like I used to. If I dont get them folded up and put away quickly though they soon mount up.

Get him to give you hand clearing the backlog, then see what else you can get away with not ironing.

I've just got back into ironing. I used to only iron work shirts and school clothes or things that were really creased. However I now iron most things. I love it because it means I can take the laptop into the dining room with me watch tv programs on catch up in peace whilst not feeling guilty because i'm doing something useful. I also see it as a workout!

I don't iron at all. DH irons his own shirts for work. I don't iron DCs clothes, nor do I buy clothes for myself that need ironing. I suspect we all look a little crumpled but I don't really mind. Rather that than have to iron.

I could probably get away with not ironing most of mine and DS's things. Unfortunately DP's shirts and trousers for work do need ironing. If he had less stuff I think I would be forced to do the ironing more often but he has so many shirts that it's easy to just let it get out of hand. DD's dresses etc have to be ironed too though I dont mind doing those too much. It is easy to cut down on ironing when you tumble dry but I dont use ours because of cost so the clothes seem more creased when they've been on the line.

Dh irons his own work shirts. The only other things that get ironed regularly (sometimes by dh , sometimes by me) are dd's school skirt and any formal shirts of the ds's.

A few more things get ironed in the summer.

I would never iron t-shirts, jeans or jumpers.

I do however have a tumble dryer which has a 10 min cycle to take out creases, etc. I take the load out as soon as it is done and fold it.

I don't iron anything.

My Dh irons work shirts, and then if needed anything that is crumpled of mine - usually summery skirts and shirts.

We don't have a tumble dryer so everything is air dried which reduces creasing.

We do not look creased at all, I hate that unironed look but I never have it, I think because I hang everything up.

Dh was disappointed to find out I didn't iron regularly when I became a sahm - he thought he could add his workshirts to my pile!

I like ironing! I don't get much peace to do it though. I'm afraid I couldn't let myself or DDs and DH out with creased clothes - even though I know they will be crumpled within minutes.

I am forever telling DH that he can't go out in that top because it hasn't been ironed. He irons his own mostly but I will iron some of his things if I'm in the mood and have the time.

The only things I don't iron are underwear (though I do iron the DDs vests) and towels.

I've starting paying (almost) 13 yo dd 30p per item to iron.

She's a bit of a telly addict and is quite happy watching tv while she does it, and very happy with the extra pocket money.

The quality of her ironing isn't great, but, hey, it means I can get on with something else.

But I agree with everyone else who doesn't iron everything - we don't iron: bedding, underwear, teatowels and hang up everything as soon as it comes off the line. Dh's shirts are ironed - he mainly does those himself.

No ironing here. Put everything in the de-crease cycle of tumble dryer and fold/iron straight away. Ironing is a waste of time!

I don't iron unless absolutely necessary.

DH does his own unless he's done a long shift and hasn't had time to eat let alone iron his shirts before being back at work.

Cant bear ironing but hate unironed clothes more. Sadly. All my, dp, dd and ds's things get ironed. I iron everything apart from knickers, boxers, bras and tights - including towels and bed linen (get a much nicer sleep!). I spend a lot of time ironing. When it gets too much I have a brilliant ironing lady that does it.

Nothing like the wardrobes hanging with clean, ironed and hung up clothes. No faffing around with the iron when changing outfits loads of times when deciding what to wear.
