Complete chaos here!!!Very early start somehow didn't solve problem of kids running in all directions doing their own thing rather than getting ready for school. This morning seemed to be a thousand extra things to remember, library books to change, where have bookbags gone (in the right place but hidden by something else dumped on top) swimming kit, recorder money, finishing undone homework, let alone washing dressing toothbrushing and feeding. At least they seem generally cheery and were playing nicely.

All mine have different breakfasts TMH one like lots of porridgey cereal, one likes only hot choc followed by dry toast, the eldest requires a glass of fruit juice and a banana or some yoghurt. No wonder it is chaos here.

TO DO
Routines
buy washing powder
make bread
change sheets 3 beds
10 mins boxroom
garden snoop for flowers

Hello everyone
Re: the Facebook MN group - it has disappeared from my list of groups, Jas

I too watched Jamie Oliver thing - horrible. Obviously as a veggie I would say that but I have always said that if I had my own small holding, reared my own animals I would be more likely to eat them - it's the food industry's way of treating animals I object to the most, I think.

Sorry dyls don't know anything about fish. I had one as a child lasted 11 years!

My children (with their Victorian Mother) have the same breakfast like it or not! If they don't eat it there's always the fruit bowl!

Not sure what I'm up to today, other than Music preschool classes - DD first at 1 pm then quick swap over in the carpark with Grandma and DS at 2 pm - it's a bit mad tbh. Not sure I'll keep up with it, it's only since DD has moved up a class it has been so difficult. Pretty dull too sitting through it twice, it's a bit different but ...yawn!

Need to do some Flying!!

Later

Swan

DS1 has porridge
DS2 has weatabix noramlly

They are both allowed a yogurt after - they often have fruit aswell, but Jelly, I draw the line at Jelly. He has had a slice of toast.

Dyls I have never had any luck with fish - so we are not bothering - not helpful I know

Wolf Your last post really confused me last night - not a hard thing to do, but did I miss something

Bainca It is a secret group, so you can not see if - use Jas' method to look - he he he

We are going to soft play this afternoon, if the boys are good.

Washer is on
TD is on

Time to play with DS2

galen are you on FB if so let me have your details and I will invite you to our secret soc

Ruby I am avoiding the PTA I think it is really a Pain in The Arse. They asked me to do story sacs, tolf them I can not , as I have a toddler too

swanriver · 30/01/2009 10:22

quite agree about jelly.
I got out of story sacks but only after assembling 26 bags of small objects to represent the phonic sounds
Apparently the new thinking is that kids find it difficult to listen without holding something, fiddling with something. When parents read to dcs at home we have them close, on lap etc, but in a group of 10 or even 30 they haven't got that ability to interact with physical things (ie: book or human) so that's why they can't sit still.

I have lots of catching up to do today is I can - the house is a state and we have a friend coming for tea with ds.

Have also discovered a miraculous truth this very minute!! When you find the strength to say NO to things (like Pta bullying children pestering etc) you also find the resources to say YES to things you usually couldn't face.

Ah I get it now - I havent watched it, but we do try and buy local meat when and if we do. I am up on all things animal welfare being the DIL or a dairy farmer.

Actually FIL is coming round this evening for us to do his VAT. I must bake later, as he has a really sweet tooth (although is skinny as a lat)

I've just mopped my floors for the first time in at least two weeks The water was ugh - we live on a bridleway so ervything gets v muddy at this time of year! Still, the floors look lovely now

I've blitzed teh whole of downstairs and have to admit it's looking v nice

Upstairs after lunch - washing to put away and toys/books to clear up.

Dd is coping well, she has a horrrible cough but is bearing up

Oh, and the cat left us a half-eaten toad on the doorstep this morning so we've dealt with that too
