Morning All

madhouse Have a good holiday

Early morning here...despite having a fairly late night.
DS woke about 5am with a high temperature...after much wriggling, coughing and me hunting for the calpol, we woke up DD2 who demanded "Mummy Up"..."Pop". Once downstairs, DD1 appeared...so we are all (well except for dh) up eating Muffins.

Ds is not looking well poor boy, I think it is a virus, as one has been going round.

Lazy day today...the forcast looks good...it was a beautiful day yesterday, if it is nice again then I'll get out and mow the lawn.

Morning[big yawn]

DS was also up late last night, but still up at 6 this morning. DD1 entertained him for 1/2hour for which I am very grateful though

It is shopping day today, and dp is working (I think) so I will have to take the dc with me.
The school up the hill from me are havng a fete, whch we may go to, and now that you've mentioned it Luda I will also have to mow the lawn if it stays nice.

Well it feels like I have been up for hours!...

Done my morning routine. Wiped all the surfaces down in the kitchen and put the bin out. Reloaded the d/w, loaded the w/m, nipped over the shop to buy some Neurofen as calpol didn't seem to be keeping DS's temp down...he is looking a bit better now
Wiped all the window sills down...still haven't actually got round to cleaning the windows...I have been meaning to do them for weeks so I'll do those today....lol...no I will!

Good morning Luda and Jas

Hope your ds gets better soon Luda
Good luck with the shopping Jas!

I've managed to get out of working (well, I may need to call into work at the end of the day but otherwise have a much needed lazy day at home) and Dh isn't out after all so we have some bonus family time
We've all had a lazy morning so far and now everyone has gone out on some errands for an hour or so so I need to crack on and get through my morning routine.
Our lawn needs cutting too so I'll plan to do that later (the weather isn't so great here though at the moment)

Enjoy you rday everyone

Morning Luda Jas and Bianca

Thanks for the thread Luda

Greyhound Racing...didn't have a clue but we had good fun. BF adored her present (it was this btw but it was a good group of people and we had a good time

Better than the time I had with Ed at the clinic. He remembered it was where he went for his MMR booster and remembered it was the same nurse. He got concerned. She was running late, unsympathetic, didn't give me chance to settle him on my knee properly, didn't let me get his teddy to him, he freaked out at the prick of the needle going in, wriggled lots and bent the needle in his arm Thank goodness he doesn't have another jab til he's 11.

Anyway I'll be back soon as DH has just made brekkie...TTFN

Hi everyone Jas, about the wheelie bin [can't let it go emoticon]. Do you have to tip it onto its side to empty out the bleachy water? Sounds like hard work .

ScaryMonsterStories · 06/10/2007 16:57

I am sorry I have left you guys. I just can't keep up when I am at work .

Still lurking occasionally, and still FLYing.

Just wanted to comment on the wheelie bin cleaning. We just stick a kettle full of boiling water in the bottom to boil any maggots (which is the prob we have), leave it for 10 mins then roll on side to empty.

I have also just brought some JeyesFluid 'disenfecting granules' for bins. You are supposed to sprinkle a few in daily but I think I will do it once or twice a week and see how we go.

Thanks luda for the thread. Re: an earlier post, yes we must meet up soon. It has been a long time since we did. I'll e-mail you for us to get something organised.

Hello to all. Not going to do a long post as I need to put the tea things away and I suppose start on the ironing. Either that or leave it until tomorrow. Right. I'm going to have a quick game of chess and then get going. See you tomorrow.

SMS Glad you are still FLYing Pop in and say h from time to time.
SpookyBear - I do something similar with the bin. Boiling water if there are maggots, little scrub with long broom and bleachy water, then tip over and empty into the gutter. Not as disgusting as it sounds, honestly,( and it isn't heavy when it is empty.)

I went to the school fete and for a fiver I got loads of clothes for ds, including a winter coat, a box of lego for all 3 ds, and 10 assorted cars for ds.

Didn't cut the grass though

Evening all. hi fgs nice to see you

Haven't done a lot today - the FLYing has worked a treat this week so the house is looking great and all my washing and ironing is up to date. Have even cooked and frozen meals for Monday and Tuesday when I am at work. Actually managed to sit down, have a coffee and read a magazine today

Shouldn't have too much to do tomorrow except want to get out and sort out the garden and get it ready for winter

Off out to pick up dd1 from skating. Be back in about 40 mins if anyone is still around.

@ jas

Morning All

Well I didn't actually do very much at all yesterday...I ended up going to my friends for most of the day.
I did manage to clean all the downstairs windows though (finally)

I think dh is working all day today, so it might be a lazy day at home for me and the kids.
My next door neighbour bought my DS 2 bin liner bags full of "boys" toys yesterday. She has two boys, 13 and 19 years. Her youngest decided to clear out all his toys and there were loads! Toy Story characters...Spiderman...Lego (OMG all my three LOVED the lego!)Hulk...Wallace and Gromit...Star Wars, and then if that wasn't enough, he gave DS his old videos too! Rug Rats, Scooby Doo, Star Wars Box Set... So despite being poorley...DS was very, very happy! I expect they will be very entertained today!

I am going to get him a voucher for GAME...its a shop in town where he can get himself a new game for his Wii....he handed the toys over declaring he was too old for all that now....and when I asked him what he was into now, he said he loved his computer games, so I thought that would be a nice thank you.

Hmmm....sorry for the ramble!! I'd better get on and do brekkie

Oh....re: the wheelie bin.....I also boil a kettle full of water....and usually add washing up liquid....then swish it about a bit. If its really yukky....get the yard brush in there...then tip it on its side to empty out.

Good morning Jas and Luda
And hello to all who were about yesterday

That was kind of your neighbours son Luda The voucher sounds like a great idea as a thank you.

We had a lovely lazy day yesterday, took dd to her Saturday morning activity, then met friends at the playground for a bit. Came home, lazed about a bit, mowed the grass, had a nice family lunch...lazed about a bit more...and so on till bedtime
Dd has woken up with a temp this morning and is complaining of a headache
I have a very sore throat and can hardly speak (much to the relief of the rest of the household I'm sure!)

Ds has a party this afternoon and my brother is calling in for a bit this morning but other than that we have another lazy day with a little FLYing as possible

Better go and have a shower before I get the kids dressed.

See you all later x

Our wheelie bin hardly ever gets cleaned but is never really dirty either......we don't throw very much away tbh - we recycle and compost loads so we struggle to have one bin bag of rubbish most weeks...

Ahem...

I just wondered if anyone would be kind enough to tell me how to cook the following....

Corn On The Cob (they are little mini ones)
Parsnips (was thinking roast parsnips??)
Green Beans
Carrots

I am doing a Sunday Roast today...usually we have a roast with potatoes and yorkshire puds (infact everything except the veg as no one eats veg ...oh...except peas...we do usually have peas.

I am feeling very awful for omitting veg as I know how important it is...so bought a few veg bits on my last shop.

luda
Hope I'm not too late for you:

Peel carrots and parsnips, cut off ends and cut parsip into largish pieces. If you parboil your pots before cooking, then parsnips can go in roasting tray with them (not boiled as they take less time to cook)Otherwise put them in with the pots about an hour before ou are serving up.

Chop carrots and boil for about 20 mins - cooked when soft (I tend to have mine quite hard, but tat is just personal taste)
Cut ends off beans and boil for 15ish mins
same for baby corn.

hope you enjoy it and good luck.

Luda I agree with all that Jas recommended (except I steam all my veggies instead of boiling them). Sounds yummy, I love roast parsnips, enjoy!

Ruby I'm stuggling with yr2 maths homework
