How do you clean your shower screen?

We have a walk-in shower and I cant seem to get it to look clean. I have used shower spray and viakal and still it remains stained looking? Can anyone recommend anything?

Do you live in a hard water area? The only way to prevent it getting all lime scaly is to wipe off the water as soon as you've showered using a squeegee (sp?). I've found if you don't do that then it's pretty impossible to get rid of the build up, but white vinegar is the best thing to try to tackle it.

Cif - with a non-scratch green spongey thing. If I'm on the ball I do it every few days in which case it only needs a rub with a j-cloth with cif on it and then a polish with one of those magic cloths. Sorry for the lack of proper names for things. It's Friday - brain's gone off for the weekend

I use a window vac.

It was a birthday present from DP.

But I actually love it and use it for EVERYTHING!

I live in a soft water area but I think the best think you can do is use one of these after each use so the water can't dry and leave any residue. Like Madge suggests.

Cill it bang limescale spray. Spray it on,rub it around leave for few minutes rub off and then rinse with water, blooming marvelous stuff!

I have one of those washing up thingies that holds washing up liquid in it, iykwim. I wash the shower with it when I'm in the shower and use a squeegee after. Works well for me.

Stardrops! It cleans EVERYTHING! I dilute a little bit in a jug and clean the whole bathroom - glass, bath, tile, taps, mirrors, floor, the whole shabang and polish off with a micro fibre cloth. Takes minutes. You can also use it to wash up and clean laundry! Brilliant stuff.

White vinegar and water mixed 50/50 with a good squirt of fairy liquid. Use it from a spray bottle. Works like a charm.

Hard water area here. Have always just used a squeegee immediately after showering. No cleaners required.

I guess if you have scrubbed and scrubbed to no avail, it might be that the surface has been damaged over the years and it's gone permanently cloudy, like glasses in the dishwasher. I've scratched an old screen cleaning it with a green scrubby thing.

These days we squeegee after every shower, and the occasional viakal sorts the rest.

A hand held squeegee thing. Takes ten seconds after every shower and is used immediately. Never have to use any other cleaners

I use those magic sponges - the melamine foam things, but I buy them in bulk from amazon and save a fortune.

I just use the wet sponge, no chemicals needed, and it leaves the glass looking fab.

Yy to the hard water being the problem. I've just moved to an area with lovely soft water and the difference in cleaning the bathroom is amazing!

I've tried everything. I even tried a soft brillo pad and Jif in the bottom corner!

I think it's not limescale on the glass, I think the glass itself is etched

I'm another who insists on it being squeegeed after every use. DP is thrilled, as you can imagine, but it prevents the glass from getting streaky

I squeedgie and dry with a microfibre cloth. Cannot abide limescale.

The guy who fitted our bathroom said the way to keep glass and tiles clean was to dry them after a shower - with a towel or a squeegee. It does work when I can be bothered to do it.

I used a window vac after every shower (find it quicker than a squeegee) - but if I missed a few showers I would use washing up liquid and vinegar -leave it on for a little while (not till dry) before wiping off.
But also if it is really bad build up those magic erasers are fantastic at getting rid of soap scum -but you will go through loads...

I got a squeegee from Robert Dyas and will try a few of these suggestions if it doesn't come off alone. I had never heard of those magic erasers til now. Thank you.
