Anyone own any of these Washing Machines?

LG 8Kg F1481TD, LG F1480QDS, or the Bosch Exxcel WAQ28461GB. Trying to choose from the 3. Does anyone own one and can recommend please?

I have an LG 10kg (don't know if that's the second one?) I love it, it works really well, has a steam function and plays a tune. It's the direct drive type so not anything like as noisy as 'normal' ones.

I have that Bosch model.

It's very quiet and reliable (2 years with newborn/toddler clothes, BL weaning AND reusable nappies + reusable wipes, so plenty of challenges).

The only thing that bugs me is the buzzing alarm when it finishes; there doesn't seem to be an option to turn it off and it rings about 4 or 5 times (loudly).

What cycles do you find you use the most PoppyAmex? Sounds like it is good with stains then!

I have the Bosch model. It came with a 5 year guarantee from John Lewis. I use it at least 10 loads a week (4 children) and have never had a problem. I normally use the mixed fabric programme which lasts 1hr 1min. Or 1hr 9min with the Eco button, but I have no idea how the Eco button helps.

napkin I use different programs to wash DH's sports clothes / normal clothes/ baby clothes / towels and dishcloths / nappies and wipes.

I always use the fabulous Aqua Plus option which is an extra rinse in the end, as I find it gets rid of any excess detergent.

I also always use the Speed Perfect option which cuts cycles in less than half the time - I did loads of tests when I got the machine and honestly the clothes came out clean every single time on the reduced time.

(these two options are available in conjunction with most programs, if that makes sense?)

Fairy liquid rubbed on the stain, washed and dried in the sun works for tomato stains .

If you join the Which site for a quid you can read all their reviews. You just have to remember to cancel the direct debit afterwards. Definitely worth it as it helped us choose our new washing machine and I love it!! (Not on your list so I won't bang on about it

I have an LG 8kg direct drive one (not sure of the model number). It washes wonderfully, is quiet to spin and it plays a tune when it has finished :-)

Had it about 2 years I think now (perhaps slightly longer) and going strong. Since DD arrived I tend to always select extra b (s) to be sure to get all the detergent out - new machines all seem so keen on saving the planet they don't rinse as much as I like in the standard cycle. My old machine, well now that drank like a fish but there was never even a waft of residue (in fact I am sure it used to enthusiastically rinse all the fabric softener out too).

Poppy there is a way to switch the beep off but I can't remember how. It's quite complicated, if you've got the manual it says in there otherwise I believe you can google the manual & instructions.

Do you mean you need to add the extra rinses on all cycles adagio? I have too notice that newer machines don't rinse as well as the older models.

Have Bosch WAQ28451, perhaps previous model of the one you list? Bought it last year. V pleased with it so far. On mixed load setting, 30 deg and "speed perfect", a load takes just 48 minutes. Also find 15 min quick wash v useful.

Beeping stops after 20 mins or so, I find it useful.

Re tomato/any food encrustations, I find soaking in cold (not warm or hot) water prior to washing works well.

Do any of you use no-bio? I need to use it and was wondering if the Bosch is still as good at removing stains when using it? Yes ibbydibby I think yours must be the previous model. So does the mixed load work well for all materials?

We only use non-bio... children all have eczema. Everything comes out nce and clean

Bosch here too, not sure which model. There is a sequence of buttons to disable the beeping, I found it by googling.

Tomato based stains disappear if you line dry, might take a couple of days in winter but super fast when the weather is hot like this.

I use the 15 min cycle a lot, but it's not great fir stains. Only use non bio detergents but I add a dollop of stain removers including bio if stuff is badly stained. Very happy with my Bosch.

Anyone have the same Lg models as I posted above? What Non-Bio do you all find best? I'm using Persil. Yes Fairy liquid gets nearly all stains out, just rub a little into the stain and wash.

I too have a Bosch excel. The best bit is I bought it for forty quid second hand. (I suspect it was being sold due to the 5p coin in the filter that was making a rattling noise....!

Mine is LG1456QD, sorry, but it is really good! We use fairy non-bio gel for mine and DH's stuff, and fairy eye-wateringly expensive non-bio liquid for the eczema-ridden children. There's the option to put an extra rinse on at the end too, but haven't needed to resort to that yet as eczema not too bad atm.

Hi napkin - I mean I manually press the extra rinse button so it does its thing then rinses again before spinning. The options are Rinse + Rinse ++ or medic rinse - medic I think sloshes it around a bit more before draining. I am not on a water meter anyway, so if its running overnight (timer delay) I always add extra's to be sure (you can choose either of the first two at the same time as the medic one).

Thinking about it your model numbers are presumable 1400 spin?

I read an article about spinning, it basically said is it worth the extra wrinkles for a few ML less of water, plus think about how you dry - I line dry and I always peg in the morning and don't bring in till evening, pretty much regardless of whether it is dry by lunchtime or not! Therefore slower spin and less ironing is definitely suits me. I therefore replaced my (dead) Ariston 1400 RPM with this LG 1200 and frequently turn the spin dial down to 1000 or 800 on a nice day and end up with nice smooth duvet covers :-)

Worth looking into before you commit..
