So sooo tired - tell me the quickest and easiest tea that you know

Sitting at work almost asleep after a gruelling few weeks.
Can't even contemplate planning a meal. Can stop at a small supermarket on way home though.

C'mon what's the quickest and easiest tea that won't get me arrested by the health police? I have a DH and a DS (6) to feed.

That sort of night calls for fresh tortellini, pot of sauce, garlic tear and share bread. Ten minutes and zero prep!

Fish fingers chips and beans. Shove in oven. Zap beans. Serve.

Or shove a whole chicken in the slow cooker in the morning. Serve with microwave rice and peas. Or a bag of pre mixed salad.

Cheese and beans on toast.
If you have frozen yorkshire puddings in freezer, grate some cheese in them and cook. Seve with some salad or beans.
Toasties and salad.
Jacket potatoes with tuna mayo, cheese, coleslaw or beans and salad.
Sandwiches and fruit - it is not essential to have a cooked meal each day - honest.
Tinned soup with bread rolls and fruit salad for pudd.

I put fish fillets in a baking dish with a little water, you can put sliced spring onions or shallots plus fresh herbs under the fish. Bake for about 10 minutes, depends on fillet thickness. Meanwhile boil up rice and add frozen peas/ green beans.
I add soy sauce, my DH adds mayo.

Feels satisfying and healthy. I always have better energy levels after fish.

Pasta, mixed through with cooked ham and peas and a bit of butter if desired. Also can add mushrooms, cherry tomatoes and some cheese.

Or Philly cheese to replace the butter. Mine like the peppery one!

My go to can't be arsed dinner is fresh egg pasta (cooks in 5 mins), frozen peas, frozen soya beans, frozen broad beans (that's what I do but any frozen veg). Can all go in one pot, boil up for 5/6 mins, drain, stir through pesto, grate cheese on top.

A freezer dinner. Fish (or chicken) and chips in the oven. Peas in a pan. Needs minimal attention and you can sit down for most of the time it's cooking.

Or, bought pizzas (10 minutes in the oven, minimal washing up) and a bag of salad. I can't do that one, any more, as DS1 can't eat cheese.

Chip shop?

Other than that, my quick tea is usually pasta with a jar of sauce & garlic bread.

Pasta bake? - aldi creamy tomato one is the best.

Add dry pasta, contents of jar and some water, bake in the oven and add cheese near the end. Super easy and very tasty and filling!

I wash a couple of boxes of cherry tomatoes (or quarter larger ones), sprinkle with dried mixed herbs, add in a sliced onion and bung the whole lot in the oven on about 200 for half an hour or so (until squishy and lovely). Take them out and stir/squich the tomatoes (this is fun) when they get soft. I shove in some basil leaves if I have any.

It really is the easiest pasta sauce ever. Also nice on slices of french bread/ciabatta, as a pizza topping, good cold in as a condiment in a sarnie.

I cook batches as it keeps in the fridge for a few days.

Another pasta one here. Stir some pesto and some Boursin cheese into cooked pasta. I also add frozen peas and green beans to the pasta a little before the end of cooking time.

I used to put mushrooms into it too until I started living with a mushroom hater. (Microwave the mushrooms for speed).

I know it's a cold day but there's nothing nicer than a carpet picnic-French bread, nice cheese, houmous, pâté etc. with a nice cake each for afters. Everyone helps themselves (and you can even serve out of the packets to save washing up).

Pretend it's Boxing Day all over again!
