Hi everyone, this is my first ever post on any chatroom/website ever so bear with me! I was prescribed fluoxetine 3 weeks ago for PMS. It was only as I got older and periods became more regular that I was able to pinpoint worst day of crying/feeling hopeless was round about time of ovulation (day15). Followed by 2 weeks of exploding at DCs and DH over nothing. I was wondering about side effects and if anyone else has experience of it. I feel really tired and spaced out most of the time. Have to make a real effort to get up off my chair sometimes! Got DCs off to school every morning this week then gone back to bed til 10! Feel really sick and faint in waves too. Ihope the side effects don't last too long. on the other hand, I've had none of my usual symptoms of PMS which makes for a much calmer family life!

Thanks piratecat. GP says review in 2 months, so have another month til then.I am going to give it plenty of timefor side effects to subside, you have to give these things time don't you.I suppose I'm looking for reassurance on the side effects without having to make an appointment to see doc.

I took it years ago, during the first 3-4 weeks I remember feeling sleepy all the time, and so nauseous it even felt as constant morning sickness that went well into the afternoon. I felt a bit disconnected from the world IYWIM. But it gets better as your body gets used to it.

thanks chandra, funny you should say that. I do feel better today, back to normal in fact. i wonder if yesterday I reached a peak of feeling ill and now its subsided. I hope so, I'm not giving up on it just yet, the benefits are there for all my family to see, especially DH.
