Ciprolex experiences

Hi I started taking ciprolex for the first time on Fri morning for depression and anxiety. Am on 10mg, starting on half a tablet and increasing that after a week. I woke up in the night full of anxiety and that has continued through the day. The anxiety seems worse actually than before, it was rare that anxiety woke me in the night before unless something had specifically happened to trigger it. I have heard this can be normal when starting to take this drug? Anyone else got experiences of it?
Thanks

I take 5mg Ciprolex. I haven't had any side effects at all (finally, after trying 3 other AD's over the years). Insomnia/disturbed sleep is normal for me though and this has improved. It's quite a low dose though still.

If the side effects are tolerable it might be worth hanging in there and see if they settle.

Have you found it has made things easier for you? I do want to hang in there with them and as long as it seems to be a phase that I have to go through which should end then I can cope with that as the alternative I wasn't coping with at all.

I think they have had an effect. A subtle effect on how I feel in general. More positive, less wound up, sleeping better, dressing better.
Some of the stresses have been removed such as work deadlines and issues there.
I've done lots of other things to help too like meeting up with friends, exercising, going to my clubs and have had a week's holiday and a haircut.
Difficult to say how much better i feel is down to the cipralex at such a low dose and how much is down to getting life back into a good routine.
I've been on them for 6 weeks.
