Hi Candyfluff I have been doing CBT for anxiety for several months now. I have found it, on the whole, to be really effective. You're right, a lot of the homework does involve 'testing' certain situations, but it can be really helpful in proving to yourself that the perceived threat/danger/source of worry is much less than you feel. I have read several times that CBT is the best way of tackling anxiety issues, and I am certainly inclined to agree from my own POV. Good luck, it is not easy but I hope you will find it helps you.

I had a problem swallowing due to anxiety and had the same thing when I started, it got much worse (probably because I was thinking about it all the time) but a couple of sessions in I started to see some improvements then a while later it just kind of clicked and got better almost instantly.
