How do you "talk" to someone about your problems?

Not even sure how to write this here. I think I need to talk to someone about my problems, have had offers to talk from my GP and minister as well as womens aid.
My problem is I don't like complaining, feeling sorry for myself, Iam naturally a shy, quiet person, and don't know how to talk to these people.
I have offloaded here on MN, and responses have been great, but its not real life.
I have some very important life choices to make and just don't know how to do it.
can anyone help please?

Just remember that you may see your problems as complaining, others see them as a gift you are giving them. Confiding shows trust, sharing a problem gives someone else the pleasure of helping you solve it.

I hope you've been OK with your decisions and have managed to talk them through alright.

How about writing down what you're feeling, then reading the letter to somebody?

I'm sure most people would understand if you said, I find it difficult to talk about my feelings so I have prepared a note.

Also, if you are shy, then somebody will be flattered to feel that they can talk to you.
