been switched from amiltripeleine to citralopram, 20 mg and trazodone ( to help with sleep). Reluctant to be on 2 but need the one as AD and the other to alleviate insomnia, apparently. However, it's day 2 and I feel odd, mainly due to an appalling night's sleep, back to 1 or 2 hours w/o crutch of amil to knock me out. Am now paranoid that I won't get to sleep again. i do feel less heady than when on the amil but am so knackered again, that old, old feeling. Gp assures me should stick it out and await the benefits once I've got used to it.

yes i started the citralopram bout 10 days ago, the exhaused feeling is getting better but i could have slept the clock around, i am on a zolpidem for sleep although dont need it that often, do stick it out, u will get there.

i used to be on the amil, for pain , as they say it works well as a muscle relaxation too, and it is an old a/d.

thanks, good to know i'm not alone. Hate thought of being on not 1 but 2 ADs! So it's made you sleey, then? Guess it affects people different ways. Are you starting to feel any better on the citalopram then in terms of mood?

sorry to hear that, it's horrible, isn't it? Maybe you could try the same combo as me - according to GP it's what's recommended locally by community mental health team. I still have my doubts, hate being on anything! How long have you been on it?

it worked.......to an extent. I did see a change in my moods but it wasnt enough, i soon reverted to feeling like i did before i started them. I do feel better for it but i am just sooooo tired all the time and cant reall get the sufficient amount of sleep that i need i just hope it passes soon

Can I suggest Mirtazipine? It worked really well as an AD for me but I had to give it up as it made me want to sleep all day.

Hope you find something that works for you. X

thanks. daren't try anything else new yet, these are already ADs numbers 2 & 3! Need to get used to them for a while. I just hope it's worth all this aggravation at the beginning. There truly is no magic pill, is there?
