I have been on 20mg a day fluoxatine for 4 months now but I am starting to feel really down again and extremely tired for no good reason. The tiredness came to ahead last night where I fell asleep on the couch at 8pm, I woke at 11.30ish, went up to check on the baby who had managed to unswaddle herself and her arms were freezing so I am sure she must of woke at some point (crying) and I didn't hear her
DD3 has always slept through so I get plenty of sleep at night and yesterday also had a nap durin the afternoon whilst dd3 slept, when I woke lastnight I went back to bed at 12:20 and woke this am at 7am but am still shattered. I have started feeling teary again for no good reason again and can only imagine it the the AD's have stopped working. I will speak to GP later today but was wondering if anyone elses ADshave stopped working before??

My DD has been on fluoxetine for about 8 months and it did take her a while to get the dosage right - it was increased after 4 months and made a real difference. Even so, she still has periods of a few days when she goes right back to Square One and is as exhausted and teary as she was when the depression first started (she's 18). TBH the CBT she's having seems to be of more benefit - could you talk to the GP about therapy as well as ADs?

After about 4-6 months I ended up the same as you and the doctor upped my dose to 40mg. Maybe it's worth a visit to your GP.

Hope you feel better soon.

ty Hassled, Gp said she wanted me to have some sort of therapy but its getting the time to go to sessions, with being a full time student, had loads of time off with the littleys taking turns being poorly. I will go and see her later if I can get an appointment. At least I know now that its possible for the ADs to stop working.

I too have been taking fluoxetine for the last 5 weeks. I am not sure it is working either, I know the GP said it would take a couple of weeks to kick in but to be honest I am feeling worse than ever and the anxiety I am suffering is dreadful. I've been prescribed 20mg a daily. I've also lost over a stone in the last 6 weeks and my appetite has disappeared completely. I normally love my food and have a very sweet tooth. Has anyone else lost their appetite on this medication
