PIP for mental health

I have bipolar and ASD and have been depressed for most of this year. I was on indefinite DLA but just got a letter saying I am being invited to claim PIP. I am very worried about this process and it is already making me ill. I am scared that because my psych discharged me and I am starting work in September they will say there is nothing wrong with me which is untrue. I have recently been referred back to the psych team for depression.
Has anyone made a successful PIP claim? I do meet the criteria for care, I do not believe I meet the criteria for mobility though.

It may be worth calling your local branch of MIND. They often have advocates to help people manage their care and advisers who can help with benefits, finance and housing in relation to MH issues. Hope you get some support with this.

DS2 gets PIP for ASD and depression.
Two years ago when he was first assessed, he got higher rate and mobility element. He has just been reassessed and now just gets the higher rate, his depression is not too bad at the moment. He saw the same mental health nurse each time, she remembered him well, last time he took two carers with him and then tried to run away from the interview. He is now back to travelling independently. It is a darned sight less hassle than ESA (well round here it is).

I get PIP for depression and ASD, enhanced rate daily living and standard mobility. I used to be on DLA HRC/LRM and it was a straightforward transfer. I don't work and I am still under the care of my CMHT psych.

My dh gets pip for bipolar2. He has worked constantly since he was 18 (now 40)and was awarded automatically with no assessment. He gets high rate care and low rate mobility. Fightback are a brilliant charity that help people with pip assessment for free, well worth a look.

redannie118 does your DH also have physical health issues? I am hoping to avoid the F2F.
Hoping to feel better in a few days. Stupid coming off meds but I hate the side effects.

Hello

I took a friend who has Emotionally Unstable Personality and Anxiety to their PIP medical and they were awarded PIP enhanced rate care but no mobility, they were currently recieving Middle Rate Care & Lower Rate Mobilty, enhanced rate care is around £30 more than what they were getting whilst on DLA.

it is not about how bad your illness is it is about how badly it effects you.
