Tips & Advice for Pulling Myself Out Of A Slump and Getting Organised?

I was diagnosed with Borderline Personality Disorder and as you can imagined I have times when I feel very depressed and anxious. The one thing that seems to really help me is maintaining an organised and structured life, however Christmas coupled with an already bad spell of depression which was worsened by the passing away of my father has left me totally out of whack. My dad died on December 17th and while I know I'm still grieving him, I know he would want me to get on with my life and be as happy as possible. Yet I can't find the motivation or energy to get back into a regular schedule.

Does anyone have any tips on how to get reorganised and back into a regular schedule?

Hi April.
I'm currently going through one of the worst depressions I've ever had and have created a programme for myself to try and get out of the rut it left me in. First I did nothing at all for a week. Which felt very different from doing nothing and feeling guilty that I should be doing something. I just MNetted, watched crap daytime TV. The following week tried to get out for a walk most days, eat 5 a day and take a shower and get dressed in nice clothes with make up every day. Next week the plan is to get out of the house every day for over an hour, to socialise every day with at least one other person, to continue to have fresh air, exercise, shower, nice clothes, 5 a day, 8 glasses of water etc. Just building gradually each week on lots of self care. Going to add meditation and affirmations at some point.

My theory is I need to get well first before trying to sort out a structure for work and housework etc. Usually I just try and force myself to work or organise too soon, and fail and get down about y inability. This time, I'm treating the illness like a physical ailment and focusing massively on feeling OK before trying to do anything else.

Would doing something like that help you get started?
