Daily gratitudes or gratitude journals - anyone use one?

I'm on the way up out of a period of mild- moderate depression. The drugs are good and my outlook on life is a whole lot more positive. :)

I don't want to be on the tablets forever as they aren't a perfect fix/ fit for me. I also know I probably need to find a more positive way of thinking (long family history of pessimistic ways and depression).

Has anyone done a gratitude journal/ daily gratitudes thing?
How did you find it/ did it work for you? Confused

Focussing on the little positives rather than getting bogged down in negativity. Easier said than done sometimes!

No, but I keep reading about the benefits. Just need to get in the habit of doing it I suppose.

I use the Happier app. Or you can use it web based at happier.com. It's a way of recording those little moments of gratitude and there is a lovely community on there that talk and promote positivity.

I meditate and journal afterwards and it's extremely helpful.

Happier also have mediation tasks, yoga courses. All kinds of mindful activities.

I did 100 days of happiness on Facebook and it was surprisingly helpful (you post something that made you happy every day for 100 days)

Thanks all! :)
I'm quite tempted to get a nice paper based diary. I'm a bit of a stationery lover. Blush

Glad to know people have found it helpful - and it's not a bunch of nonsense!

I love stationary too and bought a pretty and small notebook and pen I carry with me and I jot down the litte things that make me smile as and when I remember.

I didn't go for a diary with dates as my striving to do everything right would lead to disappointment in myself when I inevitably failed to do it every day!
