Feeling rotten

I've been an emotional yoyo lately. I've got Aspergers and can't cope with all the uncertainty at work despite my job being fairly secure. Looking for something else would bring about more uncertainty so stuck between rock and hard place.

I don't want to get signed off work as it's beneficial on good days but this is the second time in a week I've struggled to cope. I don't want the sickness record either.

Hi Proud,

My partner has Aspergers; so I wanted to see if I can help.

What is uncertain about work? Do you have a secure position; but you are struggling with changes or work colleagues/in-house politics?

Changing jobs does present challenges for everybody and would involve moving out of your comfort zone maybe?

What are you struggling with and how is that affecting your health?

Thanks Swirl

I'm feeling better now.

My work situation is great apart from the nagging uncertainty. I am in a fairly secure position but there are nagging doubts. My team leader has pointed out that I have specialist skills which the organisation want to retain.

Well; the wanting to retain your specialist skills sounds promising! Could you re-form your doubts into questions that your boss can answer? Sometimes they may not be aware what you are thinking and may be able to give support whilst change happens. Things sound a little more settled - but maybe you are not fully re-assured yet? Sounds like a complicated and subtle environment at the moment.
