I get it bad. I don't mind the winter but the longer it goes on the more down, heavy and tired I get.

Yes. When the sun starts to come out again my dh tells me to get out and sit, stand, whatever in it. I love to feel it shining on my face, I can actually feel myself 'fill up' with sunshine. In my head obviously but oh so lovely.

No I don't. But there was a thread a while ago about uv lamps. They are expensive but some of the posters were saying they were very good. I just try to get outside as much as possible, even if I have to wrap up. I even feel better with my head and face getting the sun.

Got to go now. I'm up for work at 6. Thank goodness it's Friday!

Take care

I find around February, March, and November time when it's dark and dreary and especially when rainy, I lose a lot of energy, want to curl up under the covers and not socialise etc.

The rest of the year I'm the social organiser, out with friends shopping or on social events.

Such a difference in my personality, so I reckon I've got something bordering on it. Lots of friends admit to feeling tired etc in the same circs so I reckon it does affect a lot of folk to differing degrees.

I light the fire, put the heating on and do have an afternoon nap if really tired. Talking to others and realising I'm not the only one suffering helps.

I was diagnosed with SAD

Changing my job and working in a conservatory helped me - lots of light

Mine is not that quick reaction - it is much more gradual

Towards the end of Nov.....it starts and peaks in Feb then dies off towards the end of may

a week at christmas in the sun is fab and gets me through the winter

I think I get it to some extent. Perhaps everyone does. I've started taking St John's Wort again about a week ago, as the mornings are getting darker and I always feel gloomy with the passing of summer. Have been considering getting a light box, but don't really have the time to use one properly. You need a very powerful one to have any effect in under an hour.

I think the SAD is more physical that depression (in the symptoms I mean)

I have had both & also ME

I do think they (& my IBS) are all interconnected iyswim
