Hi guys been on here before and got great advise, but can't search easily using phone so can't get old thread. I seem to have started having anxiety attacks and depression a couple of years ago but had really bad anxiety and panic attacks about 2 months ago, shaking, being sick, not sleeping etc. have been taking lexapro in the morning and half a xanax at night for 6 weeks approx. GP has stopped the xanax now so only the AD, but the shaking has never stopped. I am much better but always feel on the edge of another attack, the shaking is very obvious and always a reminder of the depression. Anyone any experience of this. GP has increased dose of AD to 20mg since yesterday. TIA

Hello there, my DD 17 suffers with anxiety and so I know how debilitating it can be.

We read a book together which advised accepting your symptoms and not trying to fight them. If you try and fight them, you are adding more adrenaline to your system and so you become more and more anxious. It sounds bizarre, but it did help to some extent. So, in your case, if you are shaking rather than thinking to yourself 'I'm going to have another attack', you think 'that is because I am anxious' and just try and accept it for what it is. It is a case of trying to retrain your brain.

Once the increased dose of AD kick in you may start to feel better, I do hope so.
