How do I help my Dad? He admits he's depressed but won't see GP

The last few years have been really rough for him, amongst other things he has lost his parents, his older brother, BIL, and been made redundant.

For him admitting it is in itself an achievement, Mum has also got him to begin taking St John's Wort which, again, is an achievement.

But - he needs to see a Dr, get AD's, maybe counselling.

How can we persuade him to go and if he continues to refuse what else can we do to help him? What can I do to support Mum in supporting him? I live 250 miles away from them so it's not easy!

TIA for any help or advice.

why not have a word with the GP and explain what is going on
or send them a letter voicing your concerns
i know they cant discuss his business with you
but worth a try
good luck and hope your dad is ok

Good idea, as you say, worth a try.

Thanks.
