ive had the mirena in for 3 yrs now and have never suffered with depression or anxiety in my life until having this in. have asked my drs to remove it but have had the same answers as everyone else, i have finally found a doctor to remove it to find that the string is missing has anyone else had this problem??? and does the anxiety, heart palpatations and depression seriously stay away???

Yes, it's quite common. Get the thing out, and you will more than likely feel better very quickly. I went to the family planning clinic to get mine out, and they had no problem doing it.

It makes me so angry when GP's won't listen and resist taking mirena's out.
