Different types of therapy??

Hello

I am struggling with my moods and my self-confidence. It has come and gone over the years and I had good results about ten years ago when my GP referred me to Cognitive Behavioural group therapy. Now I need some help again as I have struggled with feeling overloaded and not confident in myself since DS2 was born just over a year ago, this leads to me being weepy or short-tempered, especially with DS1 and DH.

I have been looking up some of the weblinks from here but I don't know what all the different types of therapy are (gestalt, integrative and lots more!) and what might be good for me. So can anyone recommend a website or book that explains in a simple way what all the terms mean? Or would it be better just to have initial appointments with a couple of local counsellors and see what they said?

Sorry if I have missed a thread which covers this, I had a quick look but couldn't see one. This is my first post in this topic.

Thanks!

You could try this one orangeclouds helpguide.org/mental/anxiety_types_symptoms_treatment.htm#treatment
if CBT helped you before then maybe it will again but you should talk it over with your GP so they can decide the right treatment, and HV in case you have PND since you have been feeling like this since your DS was born.
