Swimathon this weekend

I'm doing it on Saturday, anyone else?

I'm swimming 1500m crawl. Last year I did mixed strokes and took 45 mins so I hope I do better this time round. I'm also bringing my dad along to count my lengths and generally encourage me - I felt a bit lonely doing it last year but it was in the evening so dp was looking after the kids.

My 12 year old dd is doing 5km. She has done it twice before, but this is the longest distance yet for her. She is wonderful - she organises it all by herself.

wow, that puts me to shame! I hope my kids are like that when they reach 12. Good luck to her

ds has organised a couple of teams from our swimming club and dh and dd are also swimming it. They are all in teams of 5, so only doing 1km each and so they'll be going all out for fast times I think. I'm down to be a counter. Good luck to you MamanPorcine - it's good to have an aim (ie faster than last year) and respect to your dd too localmum - it does get tough towards the end of the full 5km.

Thank you..She is just eating a large plate of bacon, sausage egg and beans, big glass of orange juice, and then we are off to the pool!

Good luck to everyone else - hope you raise loads of money. I have a friend who is a marie curie nurse - they do a fantastic job.

Well - we are back. She did it in 122 minutes and 53 seconds [bursting with pride emoticon]

She did well localmum. Ours was this evening & it was a good atmosphere with more people than last year. Ds, dd and dh did their 1km legs in 11:48, 15:15 and 16:36 respectively. Our fastest team did 1:09:55 for the 5k (and that included a 9 year old).

Hope they all raise lots of money.
