When do I tell my pt?

Hi guys :)

Fairly new to this.
I just found out that I am pregnant (Very early stages) and I want to know when is the ideal time to tell my trainer? I've been weight training for over a year and she provides me with both my workouts and macros. I've read so many conflicting stories from tell her straight away, to should be fine for the first 12 weeks etc. The plan I'm currently on is with an aim of loosing 2-3% body fat, so my macros can be a bit low (well on no training days). I just don't know when to tell her?

Soon as you feel comfortable. She needs notice to work out if and when she needs to change your programme.

Congratulations!

I'd tell her as soon as possible, if you're comfortable doing so.

It may not make any difference to what she wants you to do for a few weeks, but it is an important change to your body that she should be aware of.

*I have absolutely no knowledge of weightlifting or exercise regimes

Thanks guys, I think what makes me apprehensive in telling her is that she's struggled with fertility herself and she hasn't had the best of year in terms of all that. I know it makes sense for me to tell her soon, especially with what my goal and time frame was. I just think I'm nervous in telling her.

In that case I would suggest you email or text her so that she can digest the news and put her professional face on for your next meeting.

Congratulations!

Tell her. Early pregnancy symptoms may affect your performance (potentially nausea, exhaustion, light headed) and she needs to be able to adapt your programme to your needs.
