Body Pump - can't stop eating

I do a body pump class once a week which I love. However, I literally can't stop eating afterwards. I am permanently hungry! I know that muscle work burns calories for a long time after but this is ridiculous.

What can I eat to fill me up? I have just crammed a hot cross bun in my mouth after lunch, several snacks, and I am still hungry.

you're not pregnant are you?

you will need protein after a muscle based workout but you might need to consider how often you do that class

I used to do a really full on muscle building routine and had to stop because it made me so hungry. My then boyfriend did similar, he ate so much chicken we thought he'd become one!!

if you have a protein shake - not necessary a powder one if you don't like idea, you can make your own - immediately after, it might help.

but I'm having this issue at the moment because I need to lose some weight and I have to choose my workouts very carefully because some classes leave me ravenous. After I did Body Attack I thought I could eat the whole local supermarket.

I know the feeling I love body pump and go three times a week but want to eat a bucket of KFC to myself afterwards! Try having a big omelette or scrambled eggs I find eves very filling and as they quick to make I can have it within a few minutes of getting home! Alternatively do body combat I did that today and nearly threw up by the end and had to lie down with nothing but a Diet Coke for an hour afterwards!

muscle work burns calories for a long time after

I think that's a myth, tbh.
Why not fill up on fruit & vegetables?

You need to have 2 boiled eggs and some spinach as soon as you possibly can after the class and within 30 mins at most. Trust me, it works.

I do a lot of HIIT training as well as pump as part of my tri training and if I didn't have a protein boost straight after I'd be chewing off my arm or eating a kilo of fruit and nut.

It keeps your blood sugar level and also helps with weight loss too (if that's what you are after)

Is typical of what people do at body pump class?

YY - video is body pump. Love it. I also love Body Attack and that makes me hungry too but haven't done it for a while.

Definitely not pregnant. I run regularly and don't notice a difference in my hunger at all. The problem is I feel like I am undoing all of the good work but I literally can't stop eating.

I'm going to have a protein shake after and see if that makes a difference.

They say that to build muscle, you want to have a high protein snack < 30-60 minutes after finishing a demanding session. It's worth a try, anyway.
