Hi all

I'm due in July, but before I got pregnant was getting back into fitness and trying to be generally more healthy. My fitness levels aren't great, but I've got a plan once this little one is born to get back to it, I'm looking for a good postnatal workout to get me started for first month to 6 weeks, whilst I'm doing this I will get back into my walking and might add in swimming once or twice a week depending on how I'm feeling. Then I want to do the 30 day shred and also start c25k.

Any recommendations welcome

Ive got a 6 week old baby and ill just say wait until the baby is here.
I had all these ideas about going to the gym and going swimming and I just don't have the time at the moment!
I think breastfeeding and eating a healthy diet all helps, and long walks with baby.
Hopefully someone who is more organised than me will have some ideas!

Ok thanks and congratulations. I'm going to be out in mornings and afternoon walking anyway as I have other dcs who are at school so will extend my walks gradually as I don't want to over do it straight away but I'm really looking at doing a good postnatal workout I can do once baby is around 6 weeks old and I've had the all clear from my 6 week check

I have a 12 week old. I started walking when I could but I had a c section so it took a while. The day I got the all clear from the doctor at my 6 week check I started running abd going for long walks. At 9 weeks I started the 30 day shred as I had so much weight to lose (had a difficult pregnanxy and put on over 4 stone!!). I'm nearly finished th shred and I can't recommend it enough. It's only a 20 minute DVD so I fit it in every day where I can and I've found it easy to stick to basically do it when baby naps and other dcs are well occupied. I've lost weight toned up and my fitness has rocketed!

I had to wait 8 months after having DS before I could exercise but I worked out right up until I was overdue so was excited to get back on the wagon as soon as poss. I had lots of YouTube videos lined up, 10 minute circuits that I could do while the baby slept (just wrote my own), buy a skipping rope and do some of that as it will hopefully be nice and sunny in 6 weeks time (Grin). Apps like Seven and Sworkit are good for very quick workouts. Good idea to walk!

As the cookie crumbled, i got fatter and fatter due to not being able to workout and not have just plumped for the personal trainer option, ha!

Oh yes ^^ the shred is a staple. If you find you like it, you can then do more Jillian workouts or Insanity, which is great!
