Hi i did c25k last year and loved it. Was running 5k 3 tumes a week. Got back to it a couple of months ago and back to running 5k twice a week. We run on the road. Anyway ive nike trainers but they probably need replacing as theyre getting old now.

What would be a good brand and style for road running? Im going to go and get my running assessed etc but want to have some idea before i go down. Thanks in advance x

Anything brand wise that suits your feet and your running style and feels comfortable and offers support - you'll be given a selection to try when you get your running assessed. Mine are Asics GTs and I'm very happy with them.

Unfortunatly, no one can predict which brand/model will suit your feet. I've tried on loads, but New Balance and Brooks never make my foot sit right. I've got 2 pairs of Asics (diff models, my older shoes) and currently use Mizuno wave 17 which I really like now I've adapted to them as they are a lower drop than I had before.

I used to wear Nike Structure for my over-pronation, but my knees were beginning to hurt when running regularly and trying to increase from 5-10k. Saw a physio who said it was because I had narrow feet and they were moving around inside my shoe (this was truly a lightbulb moment for me!). I now wear Asics Gel Kayano in a narrow width (quite hard to find narrow width shoes I've found), which are fab.

Im happy with my Brookes Adrenaline GTS 12. Bought them 12 months ago and im thinking of buying another pair. Im not one for spending a lot so I don't need the latest spec.
