Are they worth it?

How much do they cost (not London)?

How do you find one that's right for you?

Been thinking it would be good to have a course of sessions with one to give me a kick start/refresh. Always been pretty motivated to keep fit but its sort of lapsed over the last year as I convinced myself our fertility issues were down to me (they're not)...so stress and worry of overtraining mean I have kept stuff 'ticking over' but am not at the top of my game. I'm about a stone heavier than I'd like to be and would like to buff up considerably (drop 5-7% body fat).

Went spinning tonight and the trainer was amazing- really motivational and lots of energy. He approached me after to introduce himself and gave me the 'spiel'...but it did strike a note- he does a lot of hiit and had noticed how much effort I was putting in and said our training styles would suit. I'm pretty tempted but don't want to waste my money!

Do it.

I am 18 sessions in with one who I picked on the basis I liked his style and it has worked like a dream.

Slight weight loss, significant inch loss, generally re-enthused about exercise other than my fave running, new gym plan and he is super helpful and is happy to answer my random questions! He is also a runner which helps, but we have worked out in my council gym which has been a good location for me.

If you live in Hampshire happy to pm you his website, otherwise if you click then you should go with your spinning guy. The click is really important, makes sessions run more pleasantly!

Thanks for the reply. I'm in Birmingham though. Also a runner and would just run everyday if I had my choice Grin but would like to find something more effective!

Do you mind me asking how much you pay?

I've had a personal trainer once week since August and it had totally changed my appeappearance and health. I was one of those size 8 until I went to university types. I got to a size 12 (so not huge but I'm only 5 '2) and am down to a small 10 now. I am pretty lazy so the trainer sessions are perfect for me. I can't recommend it enough. The results came so quickly both in terms of weight/inch loss but also the increase in strength and stamina.

Any trainer worth his/her salt will give you a taster session so I would definitely give it a go!

I'm in London but just for reference I pay £20 for an hour (£20 as a regular client, £25 as an sporadic client).

I've has a PT for about 3/12. Did 2x a week for 6 weeks now 1x a week. I woanted to get back into running and tone up (and lose some lard)

My running had improved in leaps and bounds (now running 9 minute miles where before was 11-12 minute miles) The HIIT stuff really works but is impossible to motivate me to do on my own

I pay £20 an hour in block bookings but would be £25 an hour for single sessions

I pay 30 and hour or 27 as part of a block booking. If I could afford to pay for another block I would.

Yes to hiit working very well, but there is no way I can do it alone.

My PT introduced me to weights, I'd never really known what to do before so I will always be grateful for that - I now know what to do to keep my arms looking not flabby forever!

I also had a taster session which I walked away from grinning like mad, it was so much fun.

Just finished, I am beet red Angry . The guy I've signed up with does really high intensity stuff, lasted 50 minutes which I am pretty pleased with, he said he had another first timer before me who threw up after 20 minutes...this will definitely take some getting used to but I think it will do me the world of good..... I feel terrible, but in a great way Grin

It's great isn't it?! I saw mine this morning, and despite working really hard all Xmas running, gym etc it still murdered me. Basically I will never make myself work as hard as he makes me work!
