I am signed up to do a half marathon in 12 days time. The last one I did was 6 months ago but I haven't done any runs longer than 6 miles since. I am currently running 6 miles/10km 3 to 4 times a week but seem to be unable to squeez in the time to do anything more. Do you think it's possible I will manage 13 miles (with grace) in 12 days or am I setting myself up for a fall (and a dismally embarrassing finish)?? What have your training schedules been like???

I run 3-4 half marathons a year on absolutely no run training. I'm not very fast but I enjoy racing and hate training for running (I am a very keen gymgoer though so it's not like I do couch to half marathon).

I think having done one in the past you'll be fine. You won't be fast and some of it (the last three miles in my experience) might not be the most fun but you'll get round. If I were you I'd run/walk it from the start. I do all my half marathons on a run 8/walk 2 schedule, which has given me a sub 2.10 result in the past.

Don't worry about getting any long runs in beforehand as the most important thing to do will be to rest and fuel properly. Go out and enjoy it!

I think you'll be fine. If you go 10k 3 to 4 times a week your legs are used to it.

Feed and hydrate and go! Good luck!

I have 3 weeks till my 2nd HM and I cant wait!
